Recently in Vortex Pinnacle the last boss dropped his armor trinket

, while this seemed like a good trinket at the time I compared it too my current trinket
Unidentifiable Organ
and found that it's almost a flat downgrade. Based on this I assumed the armor weighting on gear has changed. With each point of armor taking up a signifigant amount more of the items budget. With most ilvl 346 trinkets having 427 stamina and this 426 trinket having 1139 stamina I calculated it out (by calculated I mean used a calculator to find it and used calculated to have a proffessional sounding word) and found that ratio is now 2.66 armor per point of stamina. I know there is probably a glaring fault in my idea and would enjoy a (kind) hand in correcting my view.
My armory is

if you have any advice, I feel even the best tanks can learn something and I'm far from being one of the best.

There's an topic on Maintankadin where Theck did all the math on stat weightning for us you should check it, but look out some "heavy" math there (that ofc depends at what level your math is ^^). You wont find there how much itemization points is worth 1 armor, but still usefull info

you can see this also in those trinkets...
Petrified Twilight Scale
- LK Era
VS
Bedrock Talisman
- Cata
as you see the LK trinket is better in armor (dubble more) and the downside abit less dodge on proc and that it's CD is 45sec and not 30sec like the new one.
so in my eyes if i am gonna use an armor trinket i am gonna use my old one from LK Era...

I think it just depends on your playstyle. An extra 240 Stamina is certainly nice, and I found that trinket to stack up rather quickly on trash packs (a bit slower on a boss), and the armor difference is pretty obvious.
However, I'm a big fan on rotating cooldowns -- throughout a boss fight, I'll roll through my cooldowns one by one, including trinkets, saving one or two just in case the healer goes down, etc., and I usually roll a cooldown at the start of each bigger trash pack. As such, I've always enjoyed On Use trinkets far more than passive bonuses. That's not to say I'd use an inferior trinket just to have an On Use, but if I have a choice between two roughly equivalent trinkets, I'll go with a solid On Use every time.
So if you think you'll get more use out of that big 10k HP cooldown, go for it. The armor difference is only going to be... what, maybe 1% physical damage taken? Just decide if you'd rather have 240 (or less) Stamina or a 10k HP cooldown.
