Having done what you did with your account, you're out of luck. You'll have to buy at least game keys (via Digital Download through Blizz) or new hard copies of the game. Buying only Vanilla will give you the changed zones, but you won't have access to BC, Wrath, or new Cata zones, BC or Cata races, or JC/Inscription/Archaology.
RAF still requires you to get game keys for all expansions.

You should call blizz and get account back by proving you're the rightful owner.
Selling your account isn't something blizzard supports, so it's still yours.
But before doing that, make sure the person you sold it to, doesn't know who you are ... or is smaller than you.

There is 20% off right now (saw it 2 days ago) if you do the digital download for all 3 expansions; BC, WotLK, and cata (comes to about $89).
Upgraded a friend of mine's account and noticed it.

It's not like your cd key gets bound to a specific account or anything.
Except it is. From what I remember there is no CD key for installing the game, only for making an account.

This is accurate. If you want to play the game again you must purchase a new set of CD-Keys.

This is the best answer. It's also why you shouldn't buy accounts.

Ya all you ave to do is call Blizz and tell them you quit playing and durring that time your account got hacked. Prove you are the rightfull owner and you get all your things back. Sucks for the person who bought your account though.

Sorry..but this is action would be so cheesy.
Regardless that selling an account is an illegal action.
If someone sells their account they should at least have some integrity to their actions and try to contact the person and offer to buy it back...otherwise honor the deal and go start from scratch.
