Nvidia pixel tearing

So my new rig arrived a few days ago...
W7 64 bit
Intel i7
6 gigs of gaming ram (going to 12 soon)
nvidia geforce 470 1.2gb
Often, almost exclusively in outdoor settings, I get very noticeable pixel tearing around 1/3 of the way down my screen. Does anyone else have this issue with nvidia cards in particular?
(I'd post this in the official forums however for some reason I can't get to them at the moment)

What settings do you run on? Have you tried to kept your drivers up to date or did you update already?

Do you have Vertical Sync enabled? Depending on the system this can cause small amounts of "tearing", especially with high amounts of rendering. Enabling this will normalize it with your frame rate.

If it's horizontal tearing, try enabling V-Sync. I believe the problems occurs when you bounce below and above your monitor refresh rate (Hz -> FPS) quickly. Enabling V-Sync will limit your fps to your monitor's refresh rate (for most, that's 60 fps for 60 Hz).
