Just update to VuhDo 2.72, go to new option spells=>"keys local", click "add", enter spell name, click "assign", click one of the additional mouse buttons. Repeat for all other buttons.
But does this work for the thumb grid on the Naga? Does anyone know if those buttons can follow normal mouse button behavior or are they only a 1-12/NUM mimic?
The naga grid works if you go to "keys local", but they are a mimic so to speak.

Several "multibutton" mice, including the Razer Naga, are set up as
BOTH a mouse and a keyboard in USB
. This is an actual hardware issue with the way in which the mouse is designed...
Unless
there is a software workaround to treat those translated "keypresses" as mouse buttons again. It all seems very inefficient to me. A huge headache.
This is annoying because, in order to use ALL of the buttons, at least some of them are bound to keys from your keyboard, and not treated as actual mouse buttons. And thus, you can't fully use their capabilities with an addon like VuhDo, or even Grid/Clique, HealBot or anything else. At least, not by binding spells to buttons, like you and I would both prefer to do. Hence, I'm considering doing a Grid+/mouseover macro setup for healing, but I'm loathe to do that just because someone can't design a properly-functioning multibutton mouse.
I have also tried out the Steelseries World of Warcraft mice. Same issue. I have tried software to try to maximize their capabilities on my Mac, such as USB Overdrive and Steermouse, on my Mac.
My only hope now, in order to keep them all from gathering dust -- as they are doing, while I continue using my Logitech G9x -- is to reinstall windows on a separate partition, program one of them (using their Windows software) and save the program on-board the mouse, (The makers designed them to store stuff on-board the mouse.. I'm not sure why they couldn't do better software then) and bring it back to operating in Mac OS. IF I can find the appropriate software to do so.
Seriously. I want to find a much better mouse that is truly a mouse, and not a rolling keyboard. I may try Logitech for my next attempt to migrate to something "buttonier".

I'm pretty sure I've read more of the Naga manual than people that actually own the damn thing. The thumb grid will correspond to either numbers 1-12 or the Num pad. As far as I can tell the Naga only has 5 buttons that follow normal mouse buttons rules. But I could be wrong.
agree. Also, i decided to ditcth taht mouse and just but a lachesis (i like it more and i don't need 12 mouse buttons which i just can click with my left hand)
Also:
Set macros to
numpad keys
every heal, and the job is done.
that's how i roll on my healers.

I hate to necro an old post, but I had the same one and googled and this little gem was spot on. I have to tell you and anyone else who happens to drop on this thread, it works. Regardless of what the setting on the bottom of the mouse, VuHdo reads the input and assigns the spell you put in to that key.
