I was curious what numbers you guys have been hitting with soul fire crits and normal hits.
The lowest my SOul Fire has hit for was 6k and the highest since Cata was 33k.
I just feel like for being such a long cast time and a powerful spell it should hit hard. Maybe its wishful thinking? All I know is that soul fire doesnt hit like a truck for me anymore like it used to.

33k?
Be glad you don't have Aimed Shot (top end is 10k at best).
I do feel your sentiment, but you can talent it down to 3 seconds, it provides a Haste buff (I know a good amount of the Warlock community despises ISF, mostly on the official side, but don't flame me D:) if talented, and can be Soulburned for an instant cast.
It's not that bad. Keep in mind your other abilities could easily crit for less than half of the top end you listed (Yes I also mean Hand of Gul'dan)

You are complaining in blues at 85 that you don`t hit like in epics at 80 ? ^^ i don`t see any point of this realy you can`t compare epic gear wotlk and blue cata , the spells have been change , w8 till you get full tier and end gear and compare then ( 33k i guess with meta up + cd otherwise would be hard to hit 33k i think dind`t do the math on gear/spell coef but i`m just guessing )
Yeah. I was thinking you'd have to be in Meta to even remotely hit that hard.
Btw, in perspective, I've heard of 50k Starsurges.

50k Earth somethings also seem pretty common. Silly shamans :(

nah I didnt do it in meta form...it was destro form. The thing is though, I never really see it hit hard.
Just recently I realized I was doing my stat weights wrong for destruction(not enough crit) and the numbers are getting better. But before I was lucky to see over 12k with it. Now I see it hitting for upwards of 20k and 30k all the time. I guess sometimes I get that lucky string of crits and other times i feel like my spells are like a soft slap on the hand for mobs lol

The Fulmination effect? Yeah that makes sense.

Why does it matter what other classes can pump out huge crits occasionally when Warlocks can decimate and Soulfire-spam like a #$%^ing gattling gun?

then again, having said that, in Vanilla you where able to put people in negative resistance, with Curse of Elements, resulting in crits enough to kill the target unit 2.5 times.
With vanilla napkin calc, crits of 250.000 Soul Fire is possible.
but that will never happen, if it did, expect a hot fix two day's later.
Oh those days... neg resistance and a time when resil did not exist.

... and half the specs weren't viable.

The mediocrity of WOTLK had us all feeling a bit down in the dumps for a time. This too shall pass!
And then we shall have another issue. By the way of that which is called "balance."
=D
