Anyone else find the expansion 'disappointing'?

This is easily the most exciting and most disappointing expansion of all time. When they fix mana issues and spell costs, I'll be happy.
Everybody has mana issues as a fresh 85, it scales much better the more gear you get. It boggles my mind easily people forget this.
Also agreed on whoever said the skill of players is what makes them dislike Cata I agree 100%, too many wrath heroes who think getting kingslayer made them decent at this game. I can't wait until Magmaw destroys these people and they rage hard.

OP's sig
:
Purutzil - Shadow Priest Lvl 80 (July 17, 2010)
Full T9 Shadow and 2 Piece T10 Healing (July 18, 2010)
I finished my week goal of 4 piece T9 in a day... damn WoW got easy...
Considering Blizz fixed the absolute worst misstep of Wrath, I'm willing to call Cata a success. I was in half Naxx epics the week after my first toon hit 80, and full epics the week after that.
It's a brand new world: a week after launch and I'm still excited about getting a piece of 346 blue gear.

Few more days with it and it's turning me into a Lover of it. Uldum is nothing short of awe-inspiring. It could be my favorite zone to date, beating out Nagrand.
Mats are proving difficult to come by, which means longer to level prof's, which means a happier gamer as it lasts longer (is more difficult/rewarding).
One thing I dislike is scaling of mana vs spells. 4200 mana for one cast of Flash Heal? Really? I'm just going to make Spirit my sole stat and sacrifice all others. I really don't think a Priest needs to break 80k hp while carting around 41k mana. That's just me though.
This is a great little expansion. Enjoying it a lot now that I'm in it a bit more.

Didn't follow the entire thread, just the OP. So sorry if I'm repeating things.
I hate the expansion thus far. The pre-60 zones, especially the ones with massive changes, are too linear (as you mentioned with the 80-85 content). I no longer feel like I'm in an MMO. It just feels wrong. I feel like I'm being guided around by my nose. Pushed into a direction.
Affliction Lock tree has very little synergy while leveling. Since the redid the trees, they just don't feel natural. I was goofing with a mage and it felt all wrong the first few levels.
What I do like is better item customization and rewards in the noob zones.
I liked having to travel across the world and jumping from zone to zone to find quests for my level. I liked the more open feel to the zones. The world felt bigger.
I now have a 42 Warlock and I haven't left Kalimdor. And I get a chance to say it again, the new Thousand Needles blows. Sorry if I offended anyone at Blizzard, I can tell they put a lot of effort into it.
What really is lame is that I followed the natural progression but I went through Azshara. Completed the Stone Talon Mountain and Ashenvale achievements. Went to Desolace. No flight path. Went to South Barrens. No flight path. Not a very good design. Not sure what I'm missing, other then Northern Barrens. But I figured Thunderbluff would have gotten me to Desolace. Maybe there's a path in Mulgore or something.

Went to Desolace. No flight pathFound three Horde side; Shadowprey, the Cenarion post, and the Blood Elf quest area near the tower in the north.
Went to South Barrens. No flight path.If you follow the quests, they lead you to flight points.
Honestly, it's not hard to find the FP's now a days; they show up on your maps as small wings after all.

Later xpacs wont matter anyways because SWToR is going to destroy this franchise.
Yeah! Just like Aion did. And Conan. And Star Trek. And Warhammer. And D&D Online. And APB. And CoH. And AC2. And EVE. And EQ2. And LotR. And M:O. And PS:O. And Terra. And SW:G. And GW.
Right?

No such thing as an 'anything' killer; say SWToR is as good as WoW....it means nothing. Those who hate Star Wars won't be playing it so there will still be Warcraft players.

and Netherstorm and SMV were 68+, but not really doable before 70. Lots of options.... not really.
What? I went through Netherstorm at 67 just fine. With two characters.
