I think this is just obsene that you can fly in the old world. Does blizz understand what they just did? They just opened a huge gap for exploit after exploit for stuff. Please tell me your thoughts on this ;]
I can see where your sentiment is coming from, but some of us have been dreaming of flying in Azeroth since the ability to use Flying Mounts was conceived. Sorry =(.

BTW: I had fun flying in Azeroth at level 60, I just explored all of Mount Hyjal :)
Cheers.

Pay attention for one simple moment. Old world flying is no exploit. It's an easier way to invade, lore wise and in-game. you shouldn't have such an issue because a raid can fly in and attack. And the OP talks about exploits, i'd like to know how that is a possible exploitation? I've seen no exploitations just because you can fly in Eastern Kingdoms / Kalimdor. All you can do is find hiding places, easter eggs, or empty space.
Hint: You should revise on what you post and get all the facts down before posting. This can lead to hateful/annoying posts. Include any facts for your post.

Actually, this thread gave me an idea. If I ever go back to the game again, I am going to get a group of rogue engineers to fly over Stormwind and stealth-parachute in. Imagine sitting in the middle of Stormwind and all of a sudden everyone around you is sapped, and then ripped apart by what looks like an invisible school of pirhannas!

Possibly but what about org eh? Garrosh its stupid enough to put himself near the front. Making him easy to get to.
So we drag Gamon over to the Alliance AoE. gg
This made me lol.
Gamon will break your blood and drink your bones
. And I'd jump to Gamons defense in a heartbeat. Somehow, having killed him hundreds of times, only to have him pick up an axe, and mow down 5 80's at once, allowed me to show more respect towards him, than Hellscream. Never liked that bugger.
I hardly believe it is possible to find actual exploits with the ability to fly in Azeroth. Flying works
because
the zones have been redesigned. In the old form, it would have been silly to have flying - too many blank spots of nothing. In this new world, Blizzard have had the chance to smooth out most, if not all, areas, and make certain we don't run into stupid things like "exploits" :P
And you read that right. Gamon's terrifying pressence freezes your blood, and his sheer strength can liquify your bones. You don't mess with the Gamon.

There is a spot in mulgore (top left) where theres hundreds of miniature bunnies that grow and shrink periodically. I am completely serious. I pinched myself to see if I was dreaming when I found it.

Camo parachuting is more badass.

Yeah, except that wouldn't make sense unless the whole city was PvP flagged.

I think this makes FTA or FTH too easy that they can fly into places easier then normal :/
Try flying into an opposing capital city...let me know how that goes for you.
Done it. Flew my Priest into Ironforge to get the recipe for Red Winter Clothes. Died twice. But it wasn't all that hard. (It helped, being able to Mind Vision the NPC, and go right to him)
Bringing Flight to old Azeroth is definitely a major change. However? I don't think it is a problem.
As far as the FTH/FTA PvP achievements? One definite advantage is that groups can get to their targets from a designated really point, much faster. Flying mounts go much faster than ground mounts. But... PvP raiding groups still have to run the gauntlet of NPC guards and enemy players -- both have been very beefed up -- in order to take down an enemy leader.
More than anything else, it means that people will have to think tactically in three dimensions instead of two. (Whether they're on a PvP server or not... since FTH/FTA raids occur on PvE servers all the time, too) This separates the victors from the victims.
But hey, it really isn't anything we've not seen before. If you've
ever
done battle in Northrend or Outland, over the last several years, then you've learned that you have to be wary of the skies
anyway
. We just have the same mechanic in old Azeroth now. Why QQ about it? I'm personally THRILLED that I'm not claustrophobically glued to the ground, every time I go back to Azeroth. (Except for Silvermoon.... when is Blizz going to fix that?)

Question for the OP: Have you ever participated in a FTH or FTA? Or tried to sneak into an enemy city for any other purpose? Before they added flying, I mean?
I have done FTA a number of times, and I can't remember a time where we had problems getting to the boss. Any time it failed, it was because of the horde response while we were actually engaged in combat with the boss, not because they stopped us on the way there.
In Ogrimarr, we never had to worry about the guards on the way in, because we just parked a lock there a few days before, and had 2 rogues sneak in and help them summon the raid. Silvermoon is always deserted, so no issues there. Since you have to run through the sewers to do Undercity, I can't imagine that flying helps too much there, and Thunder Bluff is a pretty easy run too. I don't think having to run through the city guards is all that challenging for most groups.
Before old world flying, I had also spent plenty of time in Ogrimarr fishing on my hunter. Just dismiss pet and run it. Usually, I could get to where i needed to go, die, corpse run, and then not be noticed by any of the guards for the rest of the time I was there. Players might want to pick a fight, but the guards weren't too much of a problem.

I think if you play on a PvP server you've signed away all right to complain about ever getting PK'ed for any reason whatsoever, no matter if it was a level 1 with a kitchen knife that one-shotted your lvl 85 Uberpwnmobile of all or what happened.

Also: You are the first person I've seen use the term "PK" in WoW. Korean MMO's represent! :D
heh, I am a (now retired) veteran of Korean MMO "Lineage II", where PKs were and still are a prominent pain in the ass.
all in all though Korean MMO's are nothing more than huge grind fests that make the AQ war effort look like a joke in comparison. Main reason I quit Lineage II 3 years ago and I'm NE-VER coming back to that game.

Oddly enough, most people who spots an enemy in the city will only ever attack, if they want achievements for doing so. Once, I were inside Stormwind on my Blood Elf, standing in the dead-middle of the Market District along with 5-6 other horde players, and no one bothered us for 10 minutes. When some DK finally decided to attack, he got his ass wiped in 5 seconds, and then there was silence once more. No one bothered to help. This might just be my server (Dragonblight-EU), or the time of the day (It was 5pm, Saturday), but it was bustling with people... Either they were too afraid to attack, fearing no one would help them (Like they actually didn't), or they just didn't care.
Why people even come to the aid of their leader, is a mystery.

Our guild was getting together for war games last night, and while we were waiting we attacked Gamon. Took him out without any real problem (granted, there were 10 of us). However, I remember the day that Cata dropped, a group of Allies tried to raid Orgrimmar, and it was an
epic
battle; there were around 40 of them, and we all swarmed them and pulled Gamon in to help.
As for flight in Azeroth being an exploit? I haven't seen a single problem with it so far. While grabbing the elders in Alliance cities yesterday, I was knocked off my mount by flying guards in both IF and Darn; I survived both times, but only because I was lucky to run away fast enough.

When Gamon got the buff, we were still lowly level 80's xD Orgrimmar was littered with corpses near the inn he frequents, and the trade-chat was frequently filled with people saying something along the lines of "LUL, wtf happened to Gamon?"

Strange. I thought the term PK (player killing) came from Runescape.
