2+ inch thickness copper? Welding that is a rare skill? Where do I learn?
Explaining the difficulties of welding thick copper isnt that easy, and would probably bore you to sleep, but let's say that it is slow, hot as h*ll and require a good portion of patience.
And of course you are required to keep an industrial high tempo.. =P
But feel free to come to Sweden, if you want to learn. At the moment we are 8 men and women over the world that do exactly what i do. (There is a small factory in Vietnam that manufactures a similar "item" but not with the kind of precision that we have.)
I am forbidden to describe exactly what we make, so you wont get any specific's, sorry. (not that i think anyone would want specifics, its really quite boring)

You're in good company. I have a few buddies from the Half-Life 2 mod "Firearms: Source" that have been working on the mod and testing / playing it from overseas on deployment. I have no idea what divisions they are in, etc., but power to ya guys. Just don't get shot because you're too busy trying to down Deathwing. :3

@Frycook
well my last year's income was ~350,000 SEK, (50,000$) not counting bonus, which is about 15-20,000 SEK annually, payed every 6 months. (2000-3000$) Counting overtime i can probably pass 60-65,000$ a year.
cost-wise the schooling cost me nothing, the unemployment-office payed for it, but because the demand for copper-welders isn't that high it was pure luck that i got my certificate basically the same day a guy called and wanted a copper-welder. (Swedish welding certificate costs about 150$ plus raw materials)
And myself i'm just about as fluid in English as Swedish, but that's just me, others might be more or less "accepting" of a foreign language, but in the bigger cities i assume it would be a lot easier, considering we have all kinds of European inhabitants in Sweden, and they seem to be doing fine.
I'd say you'd do fine, there's nothing that cant be said with nothing but strange sounds and bodylanguage!
(And our babes are hot! =P)
