Dragons do evoke magic, I believe, and that's what I would say is the source of their fire, along with their being able to fly despite being an aerodynamic nightmare.

Seems legit to me, wouldn't make sense for it to be a magical trait, since dragons don't evoke magic.
But the thing is in warcraft dragons are magical creatures and in fact one dragon IS the keeper of ALL magic. So it's very possible it is.
And not all dragons in the warcraft universe do breathe fire. Black dragons breathe magma in fact, and blue dragons can breathe magic or ice (I think).

Each dragon is magic; it's part of their actual essences.
Reds breath the 'Flames of Life' which can burn or heal.
Blues let loose the blasts of Frost that are common around their chosen homelands, as well as letting loose blasts of lightening.
Bronzes breath out the Sands of Time, scouring away at the opponent...as well as being able to fire lightening as well.
Green's let loose blasts of fire and a mist that affects those who are struck by it to 'dream'.
Blacks spew forth magma, showing their connection to the Earth.
Netherdragons let loose blasts of lightening as well.
Twilight Dragons spew fire, magma and lightening, just like their parents.

Warcraft it's magic yes.
As for what Kappa linked; that might work for Dragonspace, but it doesn't work for every dragon: The Dragons of Pern eat fire rock, grind it up, then belch out flames after they were genetically enhanced. The Dragons of Dragonlance let loose fire, poison, acid, lightening, frost, pure power and other combos, and don't tear apart their insides....though, when some of them died, they went kaboom. Pretty much every dragon in folklore, literature, and high fantasy let's loose the breath attacks in a different way...if they even have them.

Hm-m-m, so what if a dragon tries to breathe fire when a strong wind is blowing right into his/her face?

They get burned; as the dragons have fought in the Warcraft universe, and the same colours apparently injure each other with all attacks.
Free Reds against the Dark Hordes, Blacks vs everyone, Blues fighting each other, Green vs Nightmare Green, and so on.

Remember, not all Dragon's breathe fire, so it's magic.
Blues breathe Frost and 'arcane stuff.'
Reds breathe healing/burning/cleansing flames.
Bronzes breathe sand, lightning and in Occulus they breathe Arcane. (?)
Greens seem to breathe that mist stuff as Adamsm said, but in-game they seem to like to breathe natural acids and poisons.
Blacks breathe fire, lava (more like throw-up in that case), and shadowflame.

Twilights seem more like just slightly more tangible nethers, and nethers have magic breath; it is a safe extention to say that twilights have magic breath as well.
The Twilights are made from a Black Dragon egg and the essence of a Nether Dragon.

This is what I asked you to state earlier. Thanks.
I still wanna know what Deathwing falls under. I can assume but yeah...
You asked about pure power, not what the Twilights were, and they share the traits of their parents for attacks.
And Deathwing, aka Neltharion, aka the
Earth
Warder, breathes and bleeds magma, that's why he has all those plates on his body, to literally hold him together, as his power is too much for a mortal shell, and threatens to rip his body to pieces.
