Now I know it's not on topic, but
This thread is for the purpose of warlock-specific off topic banter

Well lets revive this thread shall we?
My guild is having some attempts just now on Alysrazor, and I was one of the red leaders standing by in the air. Though with that much haste I still wonder, which filler would be appropriate for the fight?
I know I have to start using Shadowbolt, but is there any point where drain life gets an extra tick? Or should I just drop it and stick to drain soul after 10 stacks? (I've seen a video that says Drain soul should be used after 10 stacks of blazing power)

A switch to DL sounds like a PITA for very little (if any) benefit but a switch to DS at 10 stacks is interesting. I know for certain that I'm not making the most of my time while actually flying. I keep DoTs and Haunt up but I know I'm slack on the filler while playing StarFox. DS is easier to maintain so I'll happily test out the 10stacks idea next raid.

I found about drain soul on this video I stumbled upon the look for help:
Flying Warlock guide
Before that I was actually using DL almost all the time, though it was a pain in the ass to keep spamming it as fast as it went. with drain soul I just have to stop to refresh Haunt, UA or BoA, which is also quite annoying to refresh, but in this fight seems to be a better choice than BoD.

Really? I use BoD, why is it a problem?

Because BoD doesn't benefit from the insane haste.

If it did this fight would end in maybe a minute or so :P
Downed her yesterday on a last moment 10 man group, my Drain soul kept ticking for 90k during the burn phase, it was so awesome! *-*
Can't wait to kill her on 25

Maybe I need more practice but I'm not sure I could do that without something suffering. Either I'd lose too much damage on the boss or I'd miss too many rings and fall out of the sky ^_^
Plus, There's no issues with the birds going down in time so I think it might only achieve epeen (this is 10man normal - I presume things look different in 25//HM)

I think it was just a summer thing. While the weather was nice, sign ups were low. Now the UK seems mostly rain bound (or people are keeping indoors and out of the riots O.o) so we've finally managed to get to Ragnaros.

>.< Thanks for the heads up.
I was really looking forward to Staghelm. After seeing the video it looked like a really fun fight... then 2 wipes and dead.
A bit of a disappointment to be honest.
So far Alysrazor has caused us the most trouble. the strategy is easy enough but it requires that nobody messes up - lots of personal responsibility with me too busy flying to be able to lead the raid in any meaningful way.
Rhyolith caused us major issues until we realised that we weren't doing enough damage on the feet. It just doesn't seem like anyone's talking about
so we'd basically missed the fact that he has a soft enrage timer. We'd adopted this strategy where we just had a couple of melee on feet and everyone keeping away so that driving was easy. Well, big mistake, as soon as we switched to 'nuke his feet as much as possible' it's been crazy easy >.<

Why a lock to fly? Pet classes benefit the least from it don't they?
Well anyway, don't forget that a lock is great on Rag for the traps, glyph your portal and you can get all portals by yourself.

Yeah, I'm far from ideal up there but we need our DPS with reliable interrupts on the ground and what remains is me and Hunters.
We've been talking about sending a Ret up there and hoping that between my Felhunter and a Resto Shaman we can handle the interrupts the Ret was doing but now we've got a kill we might keep things as they are because we've got something that works...
Now, regarding the traps, I tried that on one of the traps and died. Is this just because I wasn't spamming the button fast enough? After the failure we decided to get a priest to do it and never tried again but if it was just me being a bit crap on that attempt then I'd be a much better option.
