One thing I just noticed. As the preview is filling out and I'm typing in the reply box, the preview is pushing the reply box down every time it wraps. As my response gets longer and longer, the reply box is slowly getting pushed off the screen. Once my reply gets to the edge of the screen, the browser compensates and keeps the current typing line in view.
Obviously it's not keeping me from responding, but it is causing stuff to move around a bit while I'm typing. I guess that won't be a problem for some users -- it is a pretty good reason to offer an option to choose the old behavior if you want, though.
Another thing ... maybe the preview can update every time the user
doesn't
input anything for -- say -- 2 seconds. It looks cool and all, but I can't imagine this not being a bit of a performance hog on slow computers.

It isn't bothering me in the least :D

How is it a problem then?

If it updated every 2 seconds, some people could think it's because it's slow.

Sko, Pelf is not suggesting that it be updated
every
2 seconds, but rather, 2 seconds after user stops typing.
I think it's a cool idea, after all, it's not like I'm (personally) looking at the preview as I type.

I got that, and that's exactly what I'm saying. If it took 2 seconds to update, that would look frickin' slow.

"Odd differences?" Please explain.
Also, the requested preview toggle on/off feature is already definitely something that will be added soon. :)

For a guy that codes pretty nifty-looking widgets, you're being remarkably unimaginative :). You could easily put something like
...
at the end of it while the user is typing and then calculate the preview when they finish.
I dunno, man. It was just a suggestion :).

It's a problem because the elements on the page move around while I'm typing. That's just annoying and slightly disorienting.
Adding the ability to toggle off the auto-preview feature will suffice to make it a non-issue, though, I suppose; but, I'm not sure how anyone would enjoy having the contents of the page jump around every time the preview wraps to a new line.

I like that it's implemented, but any way of getting it to remember that i switched it off?
Maybe if/when they implement memory for the Live Preview setting, they can also add some memory to the CAPTCHA entry while they're messing with the cookie already.

Pelf thinks about nothing but CAPTCHAS! Other WoW websites have been struggling with bots and keylogger posts a lot lately, so I'm tempted to hold on to the CAPTCHA a bit longer.

Good point though, repeatedly reloading the image/page only to find wowhead has lost the captcha is not the high point of my day.
Especially when you post as much as I do.

If you've got it, flaunt it.

Conceded ... maybe you could tie it into the premium service! It seems less likely that a spammer would register, sign up for the premium service, pay for it and
then
start spamming. Possible, I guess, but less likely :). Plus, I feel more guilty every day for using Adblock here :\.
