Way to miss the point (with a huge wall of quotes, no less).
Blizzard, in their infinite wisdom, has made it so that if you want your violet proto-drake, you have to do a lot of rather fun holiday achievements. unfortunately, most of those contain one PvP achievement of sorts.
Trust us when we say that we do not want to be in your BGs, but if that is what it takes to reach our goal, then BGs it is. Blame Blizzard for "forcing" non-PvPers into BGs instead, and if you just let them complete their achievement, they won't be coming back.
(Or maybe they did get a good taste of PvP, and will gear/skill up and come back)
Here we go..some constructive input. Well if Blizz reads up on what customers are saying from different points of view, they will change this and not make people do BG's for such achievements.
You still have to start somewhere to earn privilege to fight at glorious lonewarrior's side. lol..why do you make it like I'm on some personal vendetta. All I'm asking is for BG's to be better played and that's a bad thing?.
Two leveling methods doesn't sound too bad. The only trouble could be it's implementation. They did manage to implement Dual-speccing after customers voiced their complaints about having to continuously switch spec to accommodate a certain need in raids/pvp without any trouble. I would hope that having a level 80pve oriented toon and a leveling 15pvp oriented side to it wouldn't be beyond Blizz grasp.
Umm... These days, most BGers have 800 resil or higher, a few have PvE gear, maybe 1 in 40 have quest greens/blues.
I was in a isle of Conquest yesterday and my guild member and I inspected at least 10 players who were poorly geared, one Ret pally was fighting with pieces of holy gear on and when asked why.."because it looks cooler" Sigh.
And now that we're making a lot of PvE reference here... how about making your own premade for Battlegrounds? No undergeared PvE "morons" involved!
When I can..I do..but a premade for isle of conquest O.o Most of the time my schedule forces me to Que.
Is that the same "moron" your trying to keep out of your ICC run :P.
Seriously though I never have or will flame anyone in BG's and will confront anybody that does,
but it does get frustrating when you have 3 bases in EoTS and tell people to stay on bases and defend and watch as you see most of your team go down to the flag area fighting uselessly in the middle and begin to see bases drop.
I think PvP in PvE gear is The Funniest shizzle ever. Im a warlock, so i am strictly a support class, and can easily sand back and pew-pew, destroying those pesky Wrathful Pallies ;). I always get annoyed with people who complain about PvP in PvE gear, because it is easily possible and very enjoyable.
If your geared enough to melt face in BG's with your PvE gear..that's great. I see a lot players who can do that...but these are some of the same players who watch as the Flag carrier runs past them in Warsong and do nothing to assist. I see this in Wintergrasp, when people are calling out sieges west and people are chasing down opponents on mounts.
Also someone who decides he wants to PvP and uses his zillion emblems to buy PvP gear and plays poorly is just as bad. There is no clear cut answer for PvP gear=skill for BG's at the moment. That's why I would like to see some kind of "path of champions" PvP side to leveling a toon. Create faction champs(ToC) type dungeons where pvp gear drops. "test of mettle" like quest that are akin to dueling and of course BG's.
I'm just throwing a lot of ideas out...bottom line..lets try to find away for players to want to play well in BG's. The reward is not mine but the communities.
ps. Did a warsong yesterday..minutes left..tied at 2 but they last capped...opponents had our flag, pally...protected by priest, druid and hunter. We poured into the chambers and fought an amazing last ditch attempt to get him to drop the flag. The friggin healing these guys did on each other was amazing. It took everything we had. I was rotating weapons like crazy trying to put as many poisons/bleeds as I could on all of them..sons of bit's wouldn't go down. Another rogue was outside sapping/blinding/cheapshotting anyone trying to comeback and help.
Finally a bladestorming warrior dropped the pally. All this while our flag guy and defenders managed to avoid their posse. Everyone was saying "CAP" as the last moments ticked away..no one knew if he could do it or not. We capped and won just as time expired. Great BG.
Refreshing..whoever those allies were..I tip my hat to you. Win or lose this is what well played BG can offer.
If I'm a bad guy for wanting more of this..then brand me a villain.

ok well i would like to add a few things here. i am both a PVPer and PVER, i have sets for both, talk about needing a ton of bag space for a ele/resto shammy with 2 sets for each lol. but i am in the process of lvling a mage in which at lvl 74 have done alot of lvling in bgs, and have aquired 3 set pieces and wrists and cloak for when i hit 80. i truely think alot of peeps lvl in bgs so use the honor wisely and get a few nice pvp pieces so when it comes time to do these achievements you will be able to contribute a lil more. as for pvp gear in pve, sure i do that also. my dk has wrathful neck wrists and back and does great pve. but to be honest that gear is kinda hard to top. as for high lvl pve gear doing great in bgs, my friend thats a myth. you take youre icc10 gear and hit me with 1200 res and its like hitting me with a wet noodle. spell penatration on icc10 gear would help alot also, but that isnt ever gonna happen. to many factors involved for icc10 gear to compete pvp unless youre hitting a scrub in greens. but to justify the pvers out there, us pvpers also have to do heroics at min just to get a decent weapon, so pvpers get carried a lil too, this is what made me start doing dungeons and making sets for pve, i actually like doing both, but teamwork in pve is far better then in pvp. it does suck pretty bad queing for bgs to get 25 arena points and it taking 3 hours to accomplish because poor players and follow bots that are kinda hard to detect in a bg, im more concerned with the final goal then to have time to see whos afk and a follow bot.

If Blizzard could make BGs queues for Seasonal Achievement runs I would be amazingly happy. I want to enter a BG against people who are equally bad at PvP as I am and who want to do the achievement.

heh, I go into BGs occasionally. I'm not good by any stretch but I find PvP gear nerfs my damage so much that it's just not worth it. I'm never gonna get full wrathful but going in with even a couple of lower tier PvP items does very little for my survivability yet makes it much more difficult to kill anyone. With full T10 I can take most players down to at least 40% within cheapshot then kindney shot.
Simply put, it's not worth wearing PvP gear as it actually makes me less useful in a BG. Sure I survive longer with PvP gear but so does my opponent.

well seeing that youre a rogue, id say get the witergrasp gear with the armor penatration on it then add the set pieces accordingly, this will solve youre problem, you will hit harder and live longer, hope this helps:)

To Haeleos:
Maybe sometimes how I want it to be read and how it is read is a fault of posting on forums.
When I say get gear by emblems..it's because that's just how it is right now. I desire to change it but the real time situation is what it is. Your combining what is and what I wish into one. My original post was what I wish blizzz would do...and I got thrown into an argument with what's currently going on. No hypocrisy
But that as it is..if you were starting a raid and some just turn 80-3000gs players asked to go in your ICC run..I would think you would answer "keep running for emblems and doing easier raids until your up to snuff for ICC then come find me"..when I see that same 80-3000 in Warsong Gulch with no PvP gear on at all...unfortunately I'm not afforded the same luxury as you...I have to run with him or leave and have to wait out the penalty+que time.
Play the game for fun, and let other folks do the same. You're not some higher power just because you've been playing on your toon longer then others.
So then you equate a crappy BG as fun as long as one person is having fun in it, just not my fun because I want a good one. So then I can put you on the record for saying continually wiping in raids is fun, just as long as one person is LoLing in raid chat. Enjoy that persons fun. Peace.

Occasionally....so I can refer that you aren't specced for PvPing. There are quite a few talents you would never take for pveing..which are a must for PvP.
Again this is not an individual thing. In BG's I don't use my rogue to pwn*...I try to gimp the other side as much as possible stun/poison/bleed/cripple/dismantle/vanish and let the casters/hunters/bladestorming warriors melt face. I'll come out of stealth and try to polish off anyone below 35% health.
I wonder whether the PvPers hate me. I don't PvP a lot, but I've got about a third or half a set, mostly from VoA (bought my trinket and I think a pair of bracers with honor). PvE spec. WG a few times a week and somewhere between 0 and 4 BGs a week. I do try to pay attention to the strat required, but when I ask "what's the plan" in random BGs, the answer is almost always "kill Horde." Thanks, smarty, that was helpful. Yeah, they probably hate me.
"kill horde" heeyyy :P
Anyway the player saying that is just some smuck..dismiss that person. The best laid plans are improvised. Experience will help you know what to do when the situation arises. But all the BG's have pretty much a standard starting plan. No serious PvP player hates you...they will try to help you become better..just ask and read. Also..if you can't commit your current toon to full pvping..try leveling a new one through BG's. Leveling this way has its own pace and rewards...who knows..you may have a talent for it you don't even know yet.

PvP is the pinnacle of Skill over gear. I know this firsthand because with or without pvp gear, I blow big ones at pvp.
Please. Why this insane exaggeration? Yes pvp is the pinnacle of skill over gear, but you know very well that striding into an arena or bg with zero pvp gear is not you blowing up big ones, it's them blowing up you. There is a limit to what skill can do in no-resilience armor.

Think about what you're saying and you'll realize how dumb it sounds.
The whole point of honor points and battlegrounds is to get pvp gear. You're saying you want players to already have pvp gear before doing bgs. That pretty much defeats the purpose of bgs.
Nooooooooo...that is not what I'm saying.
BG's start at the earliest level. The easy thing about them is they are pretty redundant. The only the thing that changes is gear..the higher up you level the greater the difference in stats and types of gear you will use. Battlemaster trinkets and of course resilience.
If a player decides at level 80 he wants to do BG's and has earned no HP..then go get some crafted/emblem pvp gear to help you survive otherwise a well played PvP mage is going to melt your face. Unless of course they are ICC geared, know how to play and specced properly they could hold their own.
That's not asking too much is it?
Now lets reverse that..a full PvP geared player shows up as your healer for a raid..your going to keep quiet or ask that person to go get some appropriate PvE gear. He could say "what's the point of buying gear I want to earn gear doing raids." Was that the raid kick button you just hit?
