Very interesting, read through that article and the one about Blood Shield and it looks like both are actually going to be pretty good tanking talents. Too bad I really hate the idea of spawning red maggots to heal me, guess I will have to deal with it. Of course, the aoe heal from them will possibly help drive an increase in popularity of DK tanks for raids. Would indeed help cover some less geared healers in raiding, even at lower levels.

Is there a topic for talent builds for the 4.0.1 patch, or is it okay to discuss it here? Also, i am scratching my head when looking at some of the builds on the previous page. Alcotraz, did you post a build that only has talents assigned up to
level 75
, and call it a cookie cutter? Because that is really nice and stuff, but the max level is 80.
So... until Cataclysm comes, i will probably run with this:
http://cata.wowhead.com/talent#jMGG0sMrusdZ0h
Geared in full T10, i can pass on 2% dmg reduction temporarily.
Since we can now spam Rune Strike as if there was no tomorrow, i am tempted to run 3/3 SoB
I do not pass on defensive cooldowns.
A DPS buff can be provided by someone else, and i can live without 2% Strength.
Blog about Blood Parasites convinced me to give them a try.
Rest of the tree is obvious, i believe.

since SoB hasn't changed from Live it's still only worth putting 2/3.
I'd definitely save a point there. With the change to Vampiric Blood it is now possible to macro bloodtap and boneshield. However, just know that because of the huge lack of avoidance once you hit around 83-85. Bone shield won't be as effective.
other then that you pretty much got most of the mandatory talents.

with
Unholy Blight
preventing disease from being dispelled, what is the point of
Resilient Infection
?
The tooltip, imo, for
Unholy Blight
isn't as clear as it could be. Personally I got the feeling from it that the effect only lasts the 10 seconds. Of course I could be wrong.

I believe DoT-Clipping was scrapped yes. Not 100% sure though.
dot clipping, aka refreshing, is in. It's one of the more discussed items over in the lock forums. all it does is refresh the duration, but leaves the tick timer exactly where it was. I know most of the warlock dot's benifit from haste but I duno about dk ones.

This is the Unholy build I've come up with.
Thoughts/comments on point distribution and/or glyph choices would be appreciated. :)
1pt in desecration and 1pt in magic suppression are mandatory...2pts are optional. you can put these points elsewhere if you think they might be better spent. But minus those points and you pretty much have the cookie cutter build. I'd recommend Death's embrace for a minor glyph. Normally you don't heal your ghoul but in cata you will need to. Healers won't heal your ghoul and you don't have any other ability to keep it alive. You don't instill the CD until the ghoul dies so it's a rather large dps loss if your ghoul dies compared to 3.3.5. Just food for thought.
Also, for the PvP builds...heres something you should think about. If your going to forgo Resilient Infection and just use UB...which is a good idea. However, a bad one if your not gonna use Sudden Doom. Even if you only proc a few SD's it's a free DC and 10sec more disease immunity. Remember dispells were changed in cata. If a healer tries to dispel a player and there's either no disease or the disease is immune. The dispel still consumes mana.
Also, silences/interrupts are gonna be more important...don't overlook blood sub-spec just yet.
