So, I've been wondering...
As people grow up, their tastes in music tend to change. I see this as an odd occurrence, because I've never stopped liking something that I enjoy listening to. Many people that I've talked to over the years have changed their favorite bands like they change their clothes.
For Example: A number of my friends used to love Fall Out Boy, back when their only hit was "Sugar We're Goin' Down", but now, it seems like they won't even give that song a listen; though they enjoyed it X years ago.
Another example is Linkin Park. Every single one of my friends grew up listening to that band, and yet now they put down the music as though they never enjoyed it at all.
So, why does one's taste in music change?

It changes with your personality?
My personality changed and shifted throughout my teen years, yet I still love the things that I listened to while I was growing up.

There are ofcourse always exceptions :P
Idunno... I guess I just don't understand why you would stop liking something when nothing about it changes...

The other is that it is 'out of style' like, no one in the group of big manly football players would admit to liking Miley Cyrus would they?
This is what I've always associated it with, and personally, it seems rather shallow to dislike a piece of music that you once enjoyed solely for social reasons. Why does it matter if a big, manly football player likes Miley Cyrus?

I think Bob Dylan is the greatest songwriter the world has ever known.
Also, Shrouded, that does still happen. My school is basically divided into "hardcore metalheads", "emo kids", and "gangstas", among others. I fit into the undersized category of "nerd hippie".

My school does not really have that, or maybe, there are two groups really, pop, hip hop and stuff like that, things that is popular on the radio and that stuff, and then there is all the rock stuff(including metal).
Then there is much in between, but everyone prefers one over the other and despises what ever they did not choose.
No aspiring DJs? :(
