absolutely. it's kind of funny that the only mob without corruption on it will be the one you're spam casting at ^_^
let's hope that we still have a few AoE pulls that we can go to town on!

Think it'll have any boss application to it? If adds spawn near or from a boss, I could see it have potential.

Imagine stuff like the vile spirits. As it stands warlocks do a ton of damage on the fight due to the way SoC works now, but add in Jinx for an added 10%(or whatever it ends up being) as well as a talented seed of corruption putting corruption on all the targets. It's a thing of beauty.

* Dark Intent *New* - You link yourself with the targeted friendly target, increasing both of your haste by 3%. When you or the linked target gains a critical periodic damage or healing effect, the other gains an increased 3% increased periodic damage and healing lasting for 7 sec. Stacks up to 3 times. Dark Intent lasts for 30 min. / 6% of base mana, 30 yd range, Instant cast
I don't remeber any encounter where the boss/adds casts DoT spells that crit, so that part will only be usefull in PvP. And, in PvE, I should cast my Dark Intent in the tanker, since he'll receive more HoT spells.
Right? I'm a bit confused with it... =S

It works similar to a mage's Focus Magic.
The target is a friendly, not a hostile. So, drop this on a resto druid / somebody else with enough hots/dots to keep the buff from dropping, and you've just got yourself a 9% damage increase to dots.
One thing I wonder about is that, if a lock casts this on another lock and vice versa like how mages swap FM these days, will we get double stacks? Or will it remain a max of 9%

I would imagine that you receive the effect as both the caster and the recipient much in the way mages do.

Except the current implementation of FM makes it so that when the target of the FM crits, the mage gets a crit buff, the target doesn't get a crit buff for critting,
The crit the target gets is baseline for focus magic
, whereas for dark intent we have a haste buff baseline and a damage% for critting that goes to both parties. I guess it completely depends on how Blizzard implemented it.
That being said, I wonder if I can convince my friend from not playing SC2 for a bit to test it out, but I highly doubt that so ...
Anybody in beta want to test this out? =D

Alas, if only I had a beta invite. A man can dream.

not exactly "news" but cofirmation of the mastery system:
Demonology - Increases the damage done by your demon servants and damage you deal while transformed into a demon by 12%. Damage increased further by mastery rating.
Destruction - Increases all fire damage you deal by 10%. Damage increased further by mastery rating.
Affliction - Increases all periodic shadow damage you deal by 13%. Damage increased further by mastery rating.

10-day double post >.<
again not exactly new cataclysm info but interesting to hear a developer talk directly about the warlock rotation and DPET:
Affliction rotation
The basic Affliction "boss rotation" should still be something like UA -> Corruption -> Bane of Agony -> Haunt -> Shadow Bolt. Haunt refreshes your Corruption through Endless Affliction. Nightfall procs Shadow Bolts. When the target is wounded, you can switch to Drain Soul.
On faster fights, you can go Corruption -> Shadow Bolt -> Drain Soul, or even Shadow Bolt / Searing Pain for very fast fights.
When you need to run you can use Fel Flame.
The general DPCT should be something like this (off the top of my head, so this may not be perfect): Drain Soul (wounded), UA, Bane of Agony, Bane of Doom, Corruption, Haunt, Shadow Bolt, Incinerate, Drain Life, Drain Soul (not wounded).
Most of the Drain Life stuff in the talent tree is to support PvP, leveling or when you need health.
This is all work in progress of course, and not etched in stone.

My favorite spec is Destruction and I want to see a talent that turns all our spells into "shadowflame" damage or give us a fire curse. Then I'd be completely happy.

a fire
bane
you mean ^_^
'curse/bane' and 'fire' don't really go together though, "lore-wise" (or at least in the internal logic of the game), and since bane of doom is the only shadow damage a destro lock will be doing (and even then only when BoH is not useful) i don't think it's something you need to worry about on a practical level.
my guess is that blizz likes the very distinct feel of a shadow tree and a fire tree and would never do something like that to water that distinction down.

I very hunger for some warlock cataclysm news, but apparently there's nothing on the horizon... has anyone come to this conclusion as well?... there are a lot of stuff about paladins, shamans or even warriors, but there hasn't been a proper warlock info for like a week or so...
I just hope, they're busy working on our class as they claimed we are sort of hard to handle.
Anyway, so far I'm very excited about our fire tree, but probably ma main spec will remain Demonology, because I like the idea of combining our two magic schools along with dark art of demonology... also, Hand of Gul'Dan as I saw it in some videos looks actually pretty good and I can finally see the purpose of it refreshing Immolate.
The major class changes tend to come in "spikes". Warlocks had some major changes right away while pallies had none for instance. I really like how Demo looks in the current build though. (can't say the same about how it actually plays since there are a lot of bugs and Hand of Gul'dan still looks like consecrate)

don't expect a lot more guys. paladins have been completely reworked. we've got a new resource system but it's a relatively small alteration to our core gameplay.
what i'm saying is that we're almost certainly "there" right now leaving only the extensive polish phase left to be done for locks. getting the art and animations right, perfecting the numbers and fixing bugs.

Gief demon boltz naow pl0x!
... but no, really. If they want to add it in Cata, they still need to add it to the talent tooltips as well -_- So I'm really hoping to see demon bolt pop up in one of the next builds. Unless they have forsaken it and will still be going for sbolt ...

Why not ask someone who has a beta key to find out if it's in there or not?
