And they entered World War 1 because of the bombing and sinking of the St Anne and the death of 2 American tourist on it.

The US entered the war because the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbour.
We're talking about World War One?
We were? Even so, the Zimmerman telegram was only one of a plethora of reasons that the US joined, you can't say that it was the sole factor of which, as Adamsm pointed out, was mainly involving submarine warfare on American ships.
Last post of the evening as well, for me.

This is all going very off topic anyway I think we should just return to the point would you torture children in order to stop a terrorist bomb. No, because then your no better then they are.... which is where the States went a long time ago when they made GITMO.

Adamsm, America also sold tons of weapons to the Middle East which are being used now, against America. America supplied them with weapons which they used against their own people and now America condemns them for it.
Btw, I'm glad you brought most of that stuff up on page 2. Most people deny it even when it's shown to them.
Heh aye I know; Bush Sr was good friends with Saddam at one point, and they actually set up the Tailban originally, you are right, it is strange so many people deny actual history.

I don't hate America. I hate ignorance and false patriotism.
/shrug. As do I, but people keep putting America forward as a scape goat, and it bugs me.

I don't hate the people(except for those idiot tourists who come to town on every holiday weekend and bad mouth my town because we don't celebrate said holidays), I hate the system and it's hypocrisy. I also had relatives who perished in the Wars, during those two years when the States was fine selling to both sides instead of fighting against the obvious enemy, so yes, I am a bit jaded about the way they joined the wars.

Yes, but the way you put it forward was almost completely unrelated to past discussions. You saw "terrorism" and then started raging on America.
And if you don't like the government then say the government of America. You just saying America makes it look like you hate everything in it, along with the system and all its people.

Hmm... and before you say anything else I'm not exactly too thrilled about my government either, so...

You saw "terrorism" and then started raging on America. /shrug, Sorry, but I see the bombing of two Japanese civilian cites with a nuclear weapon a greater form of terrorism then 9/11 and the destruction of the Twin Tower complex. And the American government did set up GITMO, where it's 'legal' for them to torture so-called 'terrorist' suspects, which has a broad definition.
And if you don't like the government then say the government of America. You just saying America makes it look like you hate everything in it, along with the system and all its people.
In general, when someone talks about a country, they talk about its politics.Pretty much that; and I don't like the American system, but I've already admitted that.

I won't comment here (not because I disagree, but because I'm not sure.)
And for the rest, I think we're good now. It sounds like we kinda agree...

GITMO is what really made me hate America. I actually didn't even believe it for a while because it's America.
IMHO, that makes them worse than the Middle East and always will. The things that they do in that facility is terrible. They shouldn't get away with it just because it's not on their land.
I seem to remember Obama saying that he'll shut it down sometime...
