Hi, I want to format my two HDD's completely (one of them is pretty much full of ****), but i got no idea how to do it, and google don't really help me much. I'm running WIN7 home premium(downloaded). I got a CD and code for vista/win7 to start up on. HALP!

Back in the days I use to format my HD using DOS. Try getting to it ..
Try going to this screen before you start windows I believe to get to it is F11 or F8 (it's been awhile sorry)

Choose Safe Mode with Command Prompt and see what that does for you ...
If you get the DOS screen type the following...
format c: /s
I'm not quite sure if this will work because back then I had a Boot disk that got me to DOS quickly anyways...

I gotcha.
Put in the Vista CD, and restart your computer.
You should see "Press any key to boot from CD. . ." - Does as this tells you.
It's going to say "Please wait while Windows initiates the files" or something along those longs.
Then it will load the Windows format thing.
Should ask you if you want to Repair or do a new install - just read carefully you'll know what to do. Obviously you want a new install.
A box will pop up showing your hard drive(s) and at the bottom you should see like "Delete, Format, erase" a bunch of stuff.
Hit Erase -> Format and it should warn you everything on the disk will be erased. Click OKAY.
After that it's pretty much smooth sailing.
i love you..... took some time for me tho..ya know? clicking advanced options is hard. /facepalm
Edit: how do i remove the windows.old file when i upgrade to 7?

NIce to see people grabbing hold of all sorts of crap information which is not needed for this question... Why would you need someones hardware specs for a disk format? :S
I asked becuase he said he gets real choppy once he gets to any game.
