Since school let out a last week, AH prices have shot up on my server (Bonechewer). I am not complaining, mind you, as I have made 4000 gold in 2 days just off of flask sales, but I am out of flasks and the mats have gone up considerably on average. Example: before school let out, you couldn't give away frost lotus at any more than 15 gold. The past couple of days, it has hovered at about 25 gold. Same with most other herbs, enchanting mats, pots, elixirs etc. Anyone else experiencing this? This is my first summer on WOW, is this the norm every year when school lets out?

I'm noticing a lack of mats on the AH as well. It's a good time to be a gatherer.

@tarbuh: Dont believe any minutes that Blizzard are hitting gold farmers. They barely do anything about them. You cans ee day after after day at the same spot the same bot for over a months on pretty much every servers.
If price are going up its for 2 reasons:
1) Vacantion. Mass of people are starting to play, so they empty the AH, making the demand to increase.
2) Farming/Dailies = bad gold/hour: People start to understand it, so less and less of them do it.

Odd, if anything Ive noticed the opposite. Simple lack of demand and extensive undercutting.
Quick note that you probably already know: You can buy Frost Lotus with Frozen Orbs so if Lotus are at 25 and Orbs are under 20....well, you know what to do.
Yeah, I do that regularly. Just picked up about 2 dozen orbs today for 17g apiece while FL, Eternal fire, and eternal life all went over 25.

I have made a killing selling flasks this last week. I had about 400 of each kind except pure mojo sort of sitting in my alt bank. They have gone up from 10-15g to 20-30g. And I have the easiest time farming the herbs in WG. I get about 15-18 frost lotuses in an hour of farming WG. That's a minimum of 30 flasks, and with elixir mastery I often get at least 4 procs. This means quite a lot of gold in just an hour of flying around while watching tv.

Tell me about it, I am not even farming the mats anymore, just buying off trade chat in lots. I can't farm fast enough to make the flasks to sell. I was at about 9k gold on my main on Friday afternoon.... after buying cold-weather flying for an alt and spending a few hundred on mats for my alt scribe, I am still at almost 15k now, and all of it has been in flasks of endless rage! If this holds up all summer, I'll be more than ready gold-wise for Cataclysm.

On Aerie Peak the prices have shot up. I mean you guys are talking about a 5-10g or so increase...
Mithril Bar.
Former price: 17g/stack
Current price: 760g/stack, 854g/stack, 1700g/stack (about 6 people are selling them currently).
Now obviously nobody is going to pay that, but that's the best example I could find. A troll in our trade chat has basically ruined our herb market (this guy seriously controls the market lately). Aerie Peak's economy on Alliance side is starting to suffer more and more from these prices going up, not just from the troll but from many others as well.

One of the most frustrating aspects is the crazy fluctuations. In the span of an hour, an item might go from 17g to 25, to 35, to 49, and back to 20. Undercutters sometimes chop 50-70 % off for a couple of stacks, and then dissappear. Then you'll have a couple of people try and sell at insane markups (like 100g stacks of goldclover) and they go a full day with no one undercutting them.
