What happens in schools is irrelevant. Wowhead should be doing its part to keep young children from being exposed from the word "penis".

Then you shouldn't have put the word in the title.

After a point, but 8 year old girls are too young to be exposed to the word "penis".
Actually no.7 years olds have full braim functions. Kids should be exposed and sex-ed from about 6.
How old are you, Arathian?
I'm not defending Laihendi's point, but a child doesn't develop 'full brain functions' until they're in their early 20s or so.

Didn't I just tell you that its
none of their @#$%ing concern
?
Why isn't it? It's a shop's concern to keep genetalia from being displayed across windows, isn't it?

Exactly. Everyone should be doing what they can to keep young children from being exposed to the word "penis".

To many wowhead users, that word is offensive and simply isn't appropriate for a site that is supposed to keep things rated PG. Laihendi's little sister is 11. There is nothing stopping her from going to this website, clicking on a thread or something, and seeing something as traumatic as the word "penis" on her screen.
Who are you to say that just anyone should be able to go somewhere on the internet and see the word "penis"? Did you even consider what kind of problems this causes for the parents of young children? You are allowing young children to be exposed to the word "penis" when they aren't ready to deal with the impact it will have on their lives. That shows extreme irresponsibility on your part.
When a little girl asks her mom and dad what a "penis" is,
years
before she should have any interest in them, it just starts the whole cycle way too early. It starts with her asking what a "penis" is. Then she starts looking them up on google. Then she starts getting guys to show them to her. Before you know it, you have 8 year old girls having sex, and it's YOUR fault.
Wowhead, do what you know is right. Filter the word "penis".
Wat. It wasn't filtered?

Of course wowhead wasn't made to keep children from being exposed to that kind of stuff, but it's their moral obligation to do what they can to keep the kids from seeing that stuff.
Yeah Interest, it is pretty surprising that wowhead would let a word like that go unfiltered.

The site's PG-13...just sayin'.

1.Depends on what shop your going to
2. Irrelevant because wowhead isn't made to keep children from being exposed to that kind of stuff. As I said they do not care.
1) Not true. In many jurisdictions, porn shops aren't allowed to advertise graphic images for this very reason.
2) Walmart isn't 'made' to keep children from being exposed to that kind of stuff. But they do have a socially (and legally) imposed responsibility to do so. The question is whether 'penis' is sufficiently 'bad' enough to be censored. Laihendi does have one very good point - there's no reason not to censor penis if vagin@ is censored. Or vice versa - vagin@ should be uncensored, if penis is allowed.

Laihendi: The living representation of linguistic restraint and grace.
Lahendi, that thread me think you really do have no credibility anymore. You're being hypocrytical. talking about having sex (Involving
*gasps*
a penis and ^&*!@# why is the female counterpart filtered? >.<) while preaching about having the term penis censored. the word "sex" is slang in its own. it's far more "dirty" than the anatomical term penis.
Okay, this isn't about Laihendi's sister, this is about all of the children out there. Yeah, there are little kids out there swearing like sailors. They wouldn't be using that language if they had not been exposed to it, just like little girls wouldn't be interested in the word "penis" if they had not been exposed to it.

If that is really what you think then I guess wowhead has no morals then.
Don't jump to conclusions so fast.

If wowhead wants to act like is has morals, then it should prove it, by filtering the word "penis".

I dunno, I always assumed he had his head between his hands, possibly clumped with recently pulled hair.
