That is simply an estimated date.
At this point, no one in all of existence (unless you count timeless omnipotent beings which may or may not actually exist) knows the actual release date.

Non-official date is non-official.
The beta hasn't even started yet, so even if Blizzard
wanted
to tell us a date, they couldn't - because no-one knows exactly when it will come out. They might have an estimated period of a month or two, but nothing close to an official date.
Also, I feel like I have to say that a Magic 8-Ball is, in fact, an incredibly reliable source.
