I don't know if this is related to that.
""The first tablet goes to a Tauren female... one called Magatha. She is among the elders in Thunder Bluff, and is one of the proponents of the alliance between the Tauren and the Forsaken. She, more than anyone among the elders, feels the Tauren and their ways can help the Forsaken find a path back to being human. Bring her the Tablet of Beth'Amara. The tablet may be the link she needs in finding a way to help the Forsaken... or so she claims...?""

I thought it was just the Earthen Ring that wanted the Forsaken in the Horde?
Nope, it's been long-known that the Grimtotem have close ties to the Forsaken.

Nope, was always the Crone.

Think quests like
Rude Awakening
will be changed and updated for Cataclysm
...wait, bad example since Arthas is dead... although maybe not that bad since "there must always been a
captain of the Flying Dutchman
Lich King."
Think quests like
Your Place In The World
will be changed and updated for Cataclysm? Whew, that one doesn't mention Thrall, just the glory of the Warchief.

Hmmm, wonder of that leaked info is their plan. Or was this wrapped up in Dustwallow?
Kinda odd that Blizz would shove them into the spotlight all of a sudden, whens the last time we interacted with them? Years ago?
The Grimtotem were definitely cut down a notch or 2 during the events of Vanilla WoW. However I have not seen any evidence that would suggest they were obliterated at any point. Plus some of the quests involving them could be considered non-cannon (such as the Horde quest to kill Grundig Darkcloud).
If I had to guess we simply put the Grimtotem on the defensive for awhile, and they have taken advantage of the cataclysm and increased Horde/Alliance tensions to take another shot at power. After all, it appears most of their major settlements survived the Cataclysm.

On the one hand, they're simple starting quests and pretty much universal...
On the other hand, Northshire has one quest changed already and the area where you pick up the grapes is
on fire
in Alpha...
The Defias are probably angry that they can't attack players on sight anymore.

Also, I saw some Blackrock banners on a video of Northshire. It seems that the conflict with the Dark Horde will be featured very early in the game experience of humans.

Well this is so ironic and sweet it almost makes me grin. When Varian the chin accused the horde, to Thralls face, of being murderers and savages, he wanted to rid the world of them under the delusion that they were the bad guys. Now press on a year later, and his same alliance are joining side with a group of actual murdering and savage brutes who would kill you soon as look at you.
The so called clean image of the alliance just had a big kodo turb thrown on it.
Anyway, I'll just have more reason to kill grimtotem now then, as in camping there quest givers.

Um, what? The Grimtotems have never really been part of the Horde.

You see me say they were? Their not part of the horde but an outside influence that was tied to the horde. And the point still is that the grimtotem are murderers and savages, and now needing alliance to do there dirty work.

Alliance taking a temporary alliance with the Grimtotem is no different than the Horde taking one with the remains of the Nerubian empire.
Eh, more like the Syndicate; group of humans who want to regain there old lands and kill off any who think differently.

? that don't make sense, the alliance talk to the remaining living nerubians too.
No, it be like if the horde joined with the defies or scarlet crusade to fight the alliance off. There really isn't a comparison I can think of on the other side.
and the syndicate is both horde and alliance hostile.

They're very low in numbers and the Alliance of Varian are on an open conflict with Hellscream's Horde at Stonetalon. Obviously the will take advantage of that.

/shrug, alliance still getting there hands dirty in helping a faction whos methods are worse then anything varian claimed the horde to be. kinda desperate at that.

Well, the Grimtotems opened the Alliance a pass into Southerns Barrens. I don't think that Grimtotems will get any influence into the Alliance's political manners. As I said, the Grimtotems said "you kill hordes we let you pass".
