I'm studying IT and I listen to alot of 80's synthpop and other forms of techno, drum n bass and synthetic music styles
Kinda the same here. Except I grew up with Country and Gospel so I still listen to that too.

Philosophy major, planning an Econ minor.
Jakob Dylan (so also the Wallflowers), Tom Petty, Ry Cooder, J.J. Cale for music.

Well the problem with me is that my music tastes have been all over the boards. I'm a philosophy major and I'm currently (and during college) into gothic, symphonic, folk, and neoclassical metal along with early thrash and punk. I was heavily into death and grunge metal 5 or so years back, and have been a classical musical enthusiast my entire life.

I'd like to major in English lit (only a sophmore now, so I don't know if it counts >.>) and I listen to Celtic, Alternative, Power Metal, Speed Metal and baroque.

I'm a 3rd year electrical engineering student (may be worth noting for your study that this is following a 6-year 'career' in the military in a similar field), I like alternative-ish stuff, punk-ish stuff, whatever you would classify the
Flobots
as
(generally the lyrics are far more important than the music, so anything with meaningful lyrics will sit well with me).
