I love the Ethereals. Having them as player characters would be pretty awesome, actually. Their racial ability could be a limited-range, long-cool down teleport.

now, get with the program :)
And I hated those guys in Outland. Actually, I just hate Outland, period. I call it "that place I have to suffer for 10 levels to get to Northrend". I really wish they were significantly reworking the flow of it in Cataclysm.

Mind though, I love Outlands, so I wouldn't do that lol.

Heh, was just killing heaps upon heaps of ethereals for Consortium Rep... I don't mind Outlands at all.
"What is this? You must forgive me, but I was not expecting company. As you can see, we are somewhat preoccupied right now. But no matter. As I am a gracious host, I will tend to you... personally."

Go die. In a really deep hole. With no friends.
No seriously, I was kidding. However, Outland > Northrend.

Now I'm curious...how to you hit 66 in in Azeroth? Loremaster-level?

Heh, pretty much, as well as grinding out some Timbermaw, Argent Dawn and Cenarion rep as you work on it. On my Draenei DK, did all the instance quests for BRD, U/LBRS, Scholol, Strat, Dire Maul, as well as Un'Goro Crater, Felwood, Western/Eastern, Burning Steppes, Silithus and Winterspring.

Sounds painful. I may start a character to do some redundant leveling. Hit all the 1-10 zones, then move up to 10-20, etc. When I get bored with my mains, I try to do crazy crap like that for the hell of it.

Heh, that's actually my standard leveling process; I usually have exalted with all 5 cities by level 38-43 lol.

I didn't step one toe into Outlands until 67. I started my first toon on Day #2 of WoW and quit about a year later, in the 50's. When i came back with Wrath, I had a rogue that I forgot how to play, so I just started a new one. Of course, I couldn't find a group for everything and everyone else was doing all the cool 80 stuff. All I could really do was quest and PvP.
So, I made Loremaster my goal (of which I am 60 IC quests away from getting). With just the 1400 or so quests from the mainlands, I got to 67. I got to about 40 and then I doubled back and smashed up each race's starting zones. IIRC, I was well-rested for about 35 of the final 40 levels.

Outlands problem was the...god forgive me...
outlandish nature
of the place. Just go look at one of the early Tempest Keep concept arts. It's dark, it's moody, it's got flashy lighting and junk. Actual Tempest Keep? Bright pink energy, white washed walls and a purpley skybox and hideous purple rocks.
If they had toned it down a bit, the place wouldn't be half as bad.
That's why I don't go to Netherstorm =P Go to Shadowmoon instead.
Honestly, Outland is win.
