Hi all,
So I recently hit 60 on my Prot Warrior and found myself.... disillusioned by the lack of eyecandy of Shockwave. So the thought occured to me that I'm also roughly at the level where an Unrelenting Assault build starts to shine.
This is what I'm looking at so far:

My intention is to be able to round up a relatively large group of mobs, hit Revenge, hit Shield Block, and then spam Revenge til they all fall over and die. Gearing, I'll be aiming for up-to-level 'of the Champion' for more stam/avoidance, and I've currently got two Rings of Eluding for extra avoidance, for when Shield Block isn't available (which it almost always should be, with 40 sec cooldowns and 10sec up at a time).
Are there any major flaws with my plan? Other than wasting a talent point on Improved Overpower? (wasn't sure where else I should dump it)

Also to get the most out of Revenge I believe slower weapons are optimal.
revengeno weapon damage in that formula; the only variable i see is AP.
poleaxe is > mace if you have a choice. i don't see anything in the description about it being limited to certain types of attacks, at least for the base crit increase.

True that. I'll have to play with the math to work out whether Deep Wounds (slower weapon) or Heroic Strike (faster weapon) is likely to yield higher benefits for me. My crit is likely to be fairly low, especially since I'll be avoidance-stacking.
Let's use 52.9 DPS (as per the Shadowrend Longblade) as an example.
52.9DPS on a 2.6sec weapon = 96-179 damage.
52.8DPS on a 1.6sec weapon = 59-110 damage.

2.6sec weapon:
Crit rate of 15% means that Deep Wounds will be worth:
137.5 * 0.48 * 0.15 = 9.9 damage every 2.6secs (melee/heroic strike)
137.5 * 0.48 * 0.15 * 2 = 19.8 damage every 1.5 secs (revenge)
Heroic Strike will be worth 201 every 2.6 secs
Total: 9.9/2.6 + 19.8/1.5 + 201/2.6 = 94.3 DPS

1.6sec weapon:
Crit rate of 15% means that Deep Wounds will be worth:
84.5 * 0.48 * 0.15 = 6.084 damage every 1.6secs (melee/heroic strike)
84.5 * 0.48 * 0.15 * 2 = 12.168 damage every 1.5 secs (revenge)
Heroic Strike will be worth 201 every 1.6 secs
Total: 6.084/2.6 + 12.168/1.5 + 201/1.6 = 136.077 DPS

So, if I'm HS spamming (or generally using my next-melee abilities), I'll be better off with faster weapons for faster Heroic Strikes, as far as I can tell. If I'm using single-target offensive abilities like Mortal Strike or Overpower, a slower weapon will be better, not including other 'extra swing' mechanics from Battleworn Thrash Blade or Sword Spec.
