It is based off of the warlock's own personal SP

? It gives you 10% extra SP based on your spellpower AND 10% to you AND the raid, so essentially you gain 20% of your spellpower from it.
no, you only gain the 10%, if you had 3000 SP the whole raid including you gets 300 extra sp

What I meant was that if another Warlock is providing Demonic Pact, it would be nice if the buff just increased MY spellpower by 10% and not just give me the 10% spellpower of that caster.

not really. the lock doing DP should be gearing for raid dps which means they should have the highest spellpower of anyone in your raid even if it comes at a slight loss to personal dps.

i did but that was in answer to a question where someone was trying to cripple themselves without nearly enough benefit to the raid. getting a rDPS set together isn't just about getting SP and spirit and sacrificing everything else to get it. your choices should be about achieving a net gain to raid dps.
a good example is using the CSD (meta) or a spellpower one. if you lose too much pDPS then it's an overall loss in rDPS even if you're giving the whole raid more SP.

WRONG. You get 10% more spell DAMAGE. That's a whole different story. Picking up that talent doesn't increase your SP passively, so no you don't get a 20% increase in total.
About demo locks gearing for rDPS, the only difference for me personally is the weapon enchant. Iirc Black Magic is better for locks, but we demo locks still take the SP enchant because of DP?

reiterating the DP talent thing:
DP gives a buff to output by 10% (just a straight multiplier to your damage)
DP makes your pet's crits increase the whole raid's spellpower by 10% of your spellpower.
these two things are basically unrelated.
regarding BM:
first of all
NO to BM!
BM is only best for very well geared affliction locks with one handed weapons. if you're affliction with a one handed weapon and your gear score is creeping up near 5900 then go and sim yourself to see if it's an upgrade to spellpower. if those things don't apply to you then SP is best.
some background, BM averages out to a 62.5 haste increase which is almost exactly the equivalent of the 63sp we get on the other enchant. this is not coincidence but it does make things easy for us because we basically don't use BM unless haste is worth more than spellpower.
haste is better than spellpower for arcane mages from very low gear levels but it's just not the case for us warlocks except for those very specific circumstances (aff + gear + one hand).
regarding rDPS and pDPS:
the gearing basically comes down to favouring spirit gear a little higher and gemming for highest spellpower possible.

I think this is well said, cause most of the times this just simply means that one should pick and item with a combination of spirit and haste-, crit- or hit-rating. Instead of picking and item with a cimbination lacking spirit. Spirit for a demo lock gets multiplied alot, BoK provides an additional 10%, GoLife Tap converts 20% of your spirit to SP and Fel Armor converts 39% of your spirit to SP. Short, 59% of your spirit is turned into SP. The result is then increased by 10%, cause of demonic pact for all of your spellcasters. I have no mathematical evidence, but from my belief one should aim to get these items that is using a combination of spirit to increase the raid efficiency at the cost of pDPS. In the end hit rating can be gemmed, while demo locks can reach maximum results while not being hit capped, crit is gained by numerous buffs, debuffs and even talents. Demo warlocks allready gains +180haste compared to their fellow affliction locks.
