Start your own PuG :)
This and this again.
For Pete's sake, get off your lazy ass and start your own group if you aren't happy with others.
People give minimum GS to avoid headaches. If you think that's unfair, by all means take it on yourself.

No, I don't believe in starting my own pug and then requiring a minimum GS out of others when mine isn't there.
Nor will I join any pug that think they have a right to reserve items such as saronite making the many pay the few.

The best way to see where you should be if you're playing right with your gear and are at least an average player is to go to wow-heroes.com and look where your yellow bar is. If you're pretty bad you probably need to buffer down into green a bit, and if you're really good you can generally buffer up a tad into red. However, assuming you have at least a decent amount of raid awareness and class knowledge, and you made smart gear choices, that yellow area is where you want to be.
If you go to wow-heroes and you're in the red, it makes sense that people wouldn't bring you, because unless you're playing on a higher level than most raiders, you're going to be carried just by virtue of your gear. If you're in the yellow and they won't bring you, then maybe they're the ones with the problem.
Keep in mind that if you are geared from heroics but are sort of on that yellow/red border, you can do some ToC 10/25 and get some nice upgrades to push you over the edge.

GearScore - Addon
Addons - UI
My thought, but still this is abit far fectched.. the entire question is odd to me so.

I know gearscore is an addon. But the question is not related to the addon.
It is like asking where is X quest in here because of QuebecHelper.
This thread should belong to either Dungeon & Raid or be trashed in Randomness.

I rarely pug any raids, but i refuse to join a pug where the RL is ONLY worried about someones GS. I suggest you try to find a guild that runs regular raids and will help gear you out as well as improve your gameplay.

That's because people are dumb. 232s are enough to do ICC 10 with. Granted, you should be in a mix of 232s/245s/264s from doing heroics, but 232 is still enough by itself.
With 232/245 ( I dont see why poeple only getting 232, since 245 is free to get) with some 213/219/226 from downgraded emblem and I hit the 5k gs.
You can get some pvp piece if you want a GS BOOST.
Run the weekly and VoA too, it might help you.
Depand.
What will make you get in an ICC, is this :
1.If you know the fight. If you don't know them, forget even entering. Check out all fight on internet and watch the video and things like that.
2.Be enchant/gemmed epic everywhere. If I pug an ICC, even if someone is 5600 gs and have no gem/enchant, he's out. No question about that
.3.Your spec have to be the right one, if you go there with 71/0/0, simply forget that. And if you don't aim for the good stats. (Gemming +20 armpen everywhere as pally -just an exemple-) Well poeple will take in concideration you don't know your toon and in resume, that you suck.
GS doesn't matter much, mainly for the first 4 boss. After that, we need to pull your share a bit more. And if the pug plan on going 10/12 or something like this, it's sure that they won't take an undergeared person for those fight.
