I'd get more DPS as Fury from Arms by 1k when I swapped specs with ICC gear. I could not get more than 5k DPS as Arms, and I reached 6k and up with fury.

Is 6-7k (depending on the fight) on 10 man reasonable?
depends on your gear and what buffs you have in your 10 man.
anyone who says arms is WAYYY behind fury is someone who doesn't play arms well. last night i got close to 10k on both festergut & rotface, and that's in offspec gear (although it's a pretty decent set). i've bounced my offspec between arms and fury a few times in the last months, and my dps is pretty similar.
i strongly prefer playing as arms and our raid buff is a little scarcer, so i'm sticking with it. do the same if you like it (and you're good at it).

At reg ICC gearlvls both specs can generate similar outputs on stationary fights. When you start to throw in movement Arms begins to fall behind significantly.
What alot of people fail to take into consideration though is the debuffs Arms brings that can increase the output of other classes and therefore overall raid dps.
Kitties can drop mangle and pallies/rogues can fine-tune their specs (i think) to accomodate bloodfrenzy, allowing for points to be spent in other places that are more useful.
Now, if your raid doesnt really need the debuffs and you are strictly min/maxxing for maximum dps output fury is your best bet.
conclusion- either/or for basic progression raiding, fury for keeping your raid spot in more "hardcore" progression raiding.

Answer is : Yes
I play with arms warrior and if you need some help just ask .
The way you make dps with fury and arms its same . Hit hard arpen cap wich is 90% + 10% from battle stance for arms and you are good.I know some arms pve warriors playing without exp cap but i dont think its good idea.Warrior is vert gear depending class get 6k+ gs and all caps done(hit, exp, arpen) learn rotation and control rage and you will see .

How well geared do you need to be for Fury to easily out-DPS Arms? My armoury is in my sig, I'm not sure if I should be swapping over now or not... I guess I should just have a stab at a dummy in both and see.
EDIT: yes, my gems suck, managed to completely mis-read an arms guide. Working on changing them...

Play whichever spec you enjoy more, a skilled player will put out similar numbers for both specs, slightly more for Fury if you are geared for heroic ICC 25. If your raid doesn't have a combat rogue then Arms is the way to go, 4% physical damage is a very large buff.

If your raid wants you to go Arms instead of recruiting Combat rogue you should change raid.
if only recruiting were that easy. i have a hard enough time finding reasonably skilled players, let alone the right classes playing the right specs.
it's not unreasonable to ask someone if they'd mind changing to benefit the raid - so long as they don't suck at it.

Well from what I remember in ToC age, arms could have a higher single target dps then fury in static fights, but since so many fights aren't just stand still and smash keys in ICC fury will come out as the higher dps spec. But I cant really see that a skilled Arms Warrior would fall behind a Fury warrior that much in a static fight now (but fury will come ahead because of fury's scaling with gear, but not by that much so you can totally disregard arms as a raid spec).
