wel first off all, whats a expansion without a crazy boss type trying to destroy azeroth?
but still they cant help it they turned insane
for instance
Malygos: Driven mad by deathwings murder of almost his entire race, and living alone in a cave for centurys didn't do much to helping him, ended up, despite his race amazingly repopulating, going loopy and blaming all mortals for his plight
he saw nearly his whole brood dying when they engaged deathwing and his demonsoul, and he blamed himself for it
afther he was recovered from it it semt him the best to destroy all the magic on azeroth since it was way to dangerous (its burning legion beat) and the titans never intention to let there creations use magic.
Kael'thas: Driven to fel addiction with his people, and becoming so deperate to survive, he ends up losing his mind to following the lord of the legion and striking out at all others not under his banner.
the sunwell feeded the high elves for thousend of years and afther it become corrupted he had 2 chooses: 1 find a other source of power or 2 let all of his breathen die
illidan gave him a way to feed there hunger for magic only with a bad side effect: he became addicted to power and he didnt cared about his fellow blood elves anymore, he only carred about getting more power
The scarlet crusade: Another example, humans having been driven to desperate means, end up seeing all others, living or undead, who arn't wearing there banner as the enemy, and all needing to be cleansed.
the scarlet crusade was once a good organization, with the purpose to defeat the enemys of the light.
but afther they saw there villages and family die and changing into scourge minions they went crazy and wanted vengeance, they also had disguised dreadlords and a corrupted highlord as leader
then you get dreadlords as leader + crazy humans =scarlet crusade
Ner'zul: Kind of a different situation, but his condeemed soul being twisted to the point of wanting all others to become undead drones under his control doesn't exactly speak sanity.
his spirit was tortured for many years by kiljaeden, in exchange for weakening azeroth for the legions return he would get a new body, if he would have rejected that offer the torruring would then just continue
afther he realizes he could get a entire army of undead under him doing everything he wants he turned crazy for revenge on the burning legion
Grom: Another different situation, cause groms insanity was because of the demonic bloodlust that drove him on, which thankfully he was released from upon his death and so his soul not tainted.
dont got much to say about this, he was the first to drink manneroths blood and the hero that freed the orc's of the demonic corruption
Deathwing: Driven mad by the old gods whispers from the earth that he ruled over, you don't get more of a fallen from grace character as that, evne talking to his 'precious'
old god wispers can drive any creature to madness, i remember me a quest(dont know the name anymore) where a whole mine full of dwarves turned crazy becouse of old god wispers
and jes i know bad grammar so dont reply only to say :"lol nubz yuo cent spaek englesh lulz"

Yes he was insane, but he never stopped caring about his people and working to 'save' them.

Again, Blizzard cheaped out massively with the Nexus War, giving us only a few quests lines, and a very unfulfilling raid. From what little information we got(and what we are getting come Dragons of Outland), we'll finally learn what snapped him out of his madness and got him focused back onto the present and not lamenting over the past and the only real 'cataclysm' to him; when his flight was wiped out.
I'm gonna be frankly insulting here and say... What war? No, really. War is what the Alliance/Horde are gonna have in Cata. War was something you took to the Lich King's doorstep in Wrath.
The Blue vs. Everyone part? That wasn't a war.
Eh, they called it the Nexus War heh.
