Ok I'm unsure what the common thing to do is with these. I've never made flasks for people I've always made them and AH'd them. Because my server population is small and extremely unbalanced theres not many Horde spamming trade with there professions and you could be looking for a while to find something specific. So a guy I knew for a while was asking in trade a bit for someone to make him FW flasks and after a while I told him I'd make it for him. Low and behold 4 more proc, I trade him the ones I made for him and keep the procs. He then whispered me asking for them too but I refused saying he got what he wanted me to make from the mats he gave. He then proceeds to twist the story and tell trade I had stolen flasks from him that he gave me the mats for. Now I tried explaining myself in trade but it seems as though because this guy got there before me and got his story in everyone believes him. I'm not too bothered about people not using my profession because as I said I only use it for AH but I am concerned about my name being brandished around trade. What is the thing to do when flasks proc? Also this was the first time the flask ever procced for me so I didn't even think to say it to him before the trade.

You have the right to keep the extra proc'd flasks, if they buyer gave you the mats for ONE transmute. However, don't forget that--regardless of elixir mastery--transmutes produce TWO flasks per transmute. So if you only gave him 1 flask, then he has every right to be upset since you did technically rip him off. However if you proc'd 3-5 flasks on one transmute, the buyer should still only get two flasks.

People don't specifically seek out Elixir Masters because they feel you should keep procs. All flasks created using your buyers mats should go to him, unless you
explicitly
agreed on something else. Whatever the buyer tips you or whatever crafting fee you set beforehand is your "cut".

Extra procs should go to the alchemist, if they don't like they can use the AH end of story.
You spend x amount of time and gold to level the proffesion and if someone wishes to use your proffesion they have no right on asking for the extra procs, unless the tip is truly worth your while, and no 5g is not a tip, its an insult.
Myself have enchanting and jewelcrafting and with the dungeon disenchant system my profit has dropped by 60%. No Im not QQ'ing I just don't believe in helping that nagging people anymore who don't apreciate it

This keeps coming up. Anyone buying or selling flasks should make it clear what should happen to the flasks
before
you agree to trade.
So a guy I knew for a while was asking in trade a bit for someone to make him FW flasks and after a while I told him I'd make it for him. Low and behold 4 more proc, I trade him the ones I made for him and keep the procs.
So, what I get from this is that he was asking for you to make FW flasks, and he didn't say anything about procs. Nothing was said, so, technically you didn't do anything wrong.
People don't specifically seek out Elixir Masters because they feel you should keep procs. All flasks created using your buyers mats should go to him, unless you
explicitly

I see the point, and it really makes sense that if he provides mats, then he should get everything that came from those mats. However, it is wrong to assume anything, and the buyer didn't
explicitly
say anything about the procs either. Too bad.
Personally, I sell all my flasks at the AH. If someone wants me to make them flasks, I just do a straight up trade with flasks I already have in my inventory. If the buyer doesn't like it, he can cancel the trade. Not everyone is happy, but they can't go complaining that I steal from them either.

Just say him u spent over 200g to spec elixir master and it's not for him. It's not extra mats, it's extra products.

1. If the buyer simply asks for AN alchemist to make flasks/potions/transmutes he's not counting on extra procs. So even though I personally would trade him the extra procs, it's not awful not to.
2. If the buyer is looking specifically for a specific spec of alchemist, he is counting on receiving extra procs. I would say you'd be in the wrong to keep them.
3. All conditions of the trade should be discussed prior to exchanging materials. If you want to be tipped or if you have a fee, you need to say so. If you take their mats without stating you are to be paid, then refuse to trade back the product until they pay you, you are a ninja. If you plan on keeping the procs you need to say so. If people would just talk about these things for two seconds before doing business most unpleasant situations and misunderstandings could be easily avoided.

I actually had some guy making me 20 flasks for him, and I didn't proc extra's at all. He was in my party and I linked him Elixir Mastery. So he was fully aware that I wasn't cheating him. He proceeded to call me a "nub" and "idiot" and such. He whined in /trade that I didn't proc any extra flasks (in very crappy English, not sure anyone understood him without knowing the context anyway). And on top of all that: He demanded I make him 10 more flasks for free.

When I was last on my server Blacklisted the people that did this. Believe me you don't want to be blacklisted from my server we hold like 10 gdkp runs a week and everyone gets either gold or lots of nice drops.

It spreads like wildfire through trade and alot of the people who look to buy them will refuse to do buisness with you. heck I have seen alot of people from the higher end guilds not buy stuff off the AH they would just buy the more expensive just so they dididn't do buisness with you.

Hm, I just split the procs 50/50 with the customer. Everyone gets something extra, everybody happy. :)

I really don't understand players who would keep the extras. OK, I understand, but think it's stupid. Wouldn't you prefer to have a good name and repeat customers than a few extra flasks/potions? I half agree with amagaim about transmute. If I proc 5 extra I would
ask
if I could keep one in lieu of a tip, not skim one.
Sure, if nothing was agreed upon before you are not in the wrong for keeping them, and I wouldn't spam trade if you did, but I would consider the procs your tip and wouldn't use your services again, and I would tell my guildies to not deal with you. There are plenty of people out there who know this is just a game and being friendly will get you further.
A bit off topic, but this reminds me of when I was trying to get a port from shatt to dal on a lower level toon of mine. I posted in trade 10g tip for port. A mage started posting ports to anywhere for 20g. I kept posting my 10g. After a couple mins that mage showed up in shatt and made a port right next to me and said 20g. I blacklisted him and got my 10g port a min later. I'm not comparing anyone in this thread to that guy, it just made me think of it.

This is why, when I'm trading alchemy stuff, I pretty much always trade an item (which I already made) for the mats.

I don't think there is any hard and fast rule. Most of the time I have guild-mates make flasks for me, and then there's really no question - I either get the procs or I ask them to donate them to the guild bank.
The few times that I've had someone outside the guild make flasks for me, I spelled it out beforehand that I would tip slightly extra based on the number of procs as long as I got the procs.
I can understand transmute masters holding back the procs, as they are burning a cool down.

Tell them you're a flask master before you craft them and let him know you're going to keep any extras.
If he doesn't agree to the terms, he can search for an alchemist in trade chat for 2 more hours.
