Exactly my reasoning for why it sucks. It's not really a good instance to PuG with because you can't trust PuGs. I wouldn't mind tanking it with guildies or a group from my own server but I hate doing it with a random group.
And do the idiot earlier with the "lolz yeah hitting turn evil is hard". I tank it, so I really don't have the time to use Turn Evil since I'm, you know, trying to maintain aggro on the monsters, taunt ones that get away, and things like that. But it's not like anybody else in the group uses any kind of CC either.
I really hate people who take the opinion that HoR is a ^&*!ty instance to be "making WoW easier". Things HAVE to be easier due to the LFD tool. It was different in the old days when you had to actually form a group yourself and you could get a better idea of how different people play, and if they sucked you could always call them out in Trade chat and get them blacklisted.

Gnomer is my favourite because of its size and relative complexity.
But I HATE grouping for it, because when you are going down the hallways, I always tell my group "KEEP TO THE LEFT OTHERWISE YOU WILL PULL MOBS ON THE RIGHT".
Then you get an eager DPS that moves to the lip of the pathway, and 3mins later we get absolutely smashed by 15 angry leper gnomes.

Pre-BC
- Uldaman followed by Gnomer. Getting lost, dealing with new players, etc... There was always something wrong when I grouped up in those two instances.
BC
- Steamvault, especially on heroic.
WotLK
- At first I thought Utgard Pinnacles was more annoying? Now, it's HoR! I
pity
all the healers.

Vanilla
- Blackfathom Deeps , No matter how many times I have been in this place, I always miss the jumps when leaping across, and have to swim back and try again. This usually takes at least 3 or 4 attempts before I get all the way across.
BC
- Sethekk Halls, numerous fear casts, mind control totems, those avian hawks that swoop down and knock you on your arse, and the annoying screeching sound that the Arakkoas make. Ughh, hate the place .
Wrath
- ToC 5 man, This one just feels like lazy and uninspired design, The jousting is clumsy, Eadric (for the level) may be the weakest boss in a dungeon, A bug
(that still has not been fixed)
which causes the champions to vanish after engaging them in combat. It's not a hard dungeon, but I groan every time I get it.

Classic : BRD. If anyone else ever got stuck behind the barriers of the arena bit, please tell me, and we can ask Blizzard for the "village idiot" title.
TBC : They're mostly ok.
WOTLK : Culling of Bloody Stratholme...it's funny at first...and then it's crap.

Depending on the group you have HoR can be a total faceroll or a wipefest. I like and hate the place at the same time. As much as I extend the ID for that instance every single day not to get into it via random dungeon finder
You can still get it through random dungeon finder......even if you are locked. The LFD tool doesnt take into account lockouts if you select random, you just cant pick one specifically if you're locked.....
Ah, but you are actually much less likely to get it by doing this. Its actually quite a clever move. The LFD tool forms the group, and then first tries to pick an instance that everyone is not saved to - it does this to reduce the chance of you running the same one multiple times per day.
Ive actually once done a Forge of Souls run. We get to the end, and decide to do a run of Pit of Saron together. So someone re-joins us (I know I was set on "do FoS or PoS only" not "random). We accept without reading. And Forge of Souls loads. It gave us the EXACT same instance we were standing in...
I never liked Gnomer. It just seemed like that place was designed to screw me over.
Oculus was fairly hated by me, because the Drake mechanics, no matter how understood, were different. Of course, the nerfbat hit it, and I dont mind it as much anymore.
Halls of Stone and that damn tribunal. But, its almost too easy now.
Im currently not a fan of Halls of Reflection. Its not that its hard - its just tricky and easy for things to go wrong.
