Can't get past that certain DPS, is my gear that bad?

I just downloaded recount and went crazy on a practice dummy because I wanted to see if I can get better dps by trying different things in regards to spell rotation. Well, it's not really that great. I can not get past 2.7k. That's pretty much it. I think my gear is not THAT bad or is it?
My rotation usually is: VT-MB-DP, then 1 MF to get the 5 pnt Shadow Weave, then SW: Pain, from here I do 2 MF's, by then MB is rdy again, then VT again etc. Every once in a while I'll through in SW:D
This gets me to around 2.7k but I have to really push it. Is this normal for my gear lvl?
Here is my armory:

If anybody can give me any suggestions or pointers how to improve, I'd appreciate it.
I do have a couple of pvp items but, they are currently a LOT better than what I replaced them with. Plus it seems the stats are pretty decent on them.
Anyway, thanks.
EDIT: BTW, I got about 170 Emblems of Triumph and 700 Stonekeeper Shards. If anybody has any suggestions on spending them wisely, please go ahead.

kill youar self
(read the stickies, your spec is dumb and you dont seem to know how to gear if you have 170 emblems but no idea what to spend them on)
Seriously? That's you post? Kill myself?
I mean, a short "no comment" or, ONE little suggestion would have done.
Just because you hate life is no reason to be that rude.
Why even post? Plus, If you DO want me to kill myself because of that, CAN YA AT LEAST SPELL IT RIGHT!
Well, I just came out of Pit of S and ended up with 3.6k only because I had to spam Mind Sear. Anyway, thanks to the other poster for some kind of help.

Pay no heed to Sjak, he can come off as abrasive. His point, if you were looking closely, was to read the stickies. There are multiple guides and resources to get you started on the right foot.
Your Rotation
Have you tried an opening rotation of VT-> MB-> MF (to 5)-> DP-> SWP?
This will charge your DP up to 5 stacks of Shadow Weaving before applying the DoT.
Make sure you're keeping your 2 highest DPS dots up (VT and DP) as close to 100% uptime as you can get, but be sure not to clip them! If you have the choice between clipping your dots, casting another mind flay, or waiting 1 second until MB comes off cooldown, either choose MF or SW:D (if you'd like to adjust your position), then refresh your dots, then MB.
DoT timer addons should help you keep your DoT uptimes at their maximum. I use
EventHorizon
when I'm in shadow (because shadow is my offspec and I suck at it), and it works for me.
Your Gear
Half of your gear is PvP gear, so you're losing a lot of DPS stats (like spellpower, haste, crit) to survival stats (like stamina and resilience)
You've got a level 77 ring and two crappy trinkets, too. Aside from those specifically, like I said you're pretty low on spellpower, crit and haste.
You're also using half-assed enchants.
If you want to do high DPS in a raid, get PvE gear.
Your Spec
... looks to be some kind of PvP build, I'm guessing? If you switched to a pure DPS build, you'd notice a huge difference. You need to max out
Twin Discipline
s. Also,
Twisted Faith
works nicely in conjunction with
Improved Spirit Tap
to raise your spellpower even more.
You'll also notice a huge improvement in your mana levels if you spec into Spirit Tap and switch out your Inner Fire glyph to Shadow Word: Pain, thus increasing the amount of spells you can cast, and reduce the amount of times you have to use Dispersion

Hi Sinespe,
Thanks for the post, I appreciate it.
Well, I probably risk getting another "kill yourself" comment but, one question:
What is meant by lazy enchant?
Post by

He means that they're not the best enchants you could be using on your gear. For example, you can get +81 spellpower to your staff, but you're using +63. On your bracers, you're using +23 spellpower instead of +30.
I'd call them "cheap" enchants, but Sinespe calls them "lazy". Either way, they're sub-optimal.
Edit: Actually, the +63 spellpower on your staff is not the "cheap" enchant. It's the expensive one, but intended for a one-handed weapon. You just blew a bunch of expensive mats on the wrong enchant.

Keep your spell priority in mind
Keep
SW:P
refreshed (only applied with 5 stacks SW)
DP
VT
MB
MF
SW:D
(when moving or .5 * GCD left before refreshing a DoT)
Remember to never clip anything.
A simple macro like
/cast Mind Flay
will allow you to spam click MF but not clip it.

Tasty! I'll have to try this.
