That sure is "human" of God.Perhaps it is "divine" of humans. Love, I mean.In addition, if my wife didn't love me, I wouldn't kidnap her, keep her in my basement, and torture her for as long as possible without killing her, all the while professing my love for her.A better illustration would be if your house were the only safe place in the world, and she refused to stay with you.In a world
I created.
God created Hell. God created Satan. God was the one that decided that we'd go to hell if we disobeyed. God created my skeptical brain.
If a Buddhist does not believe that a Jewish man was the son of a god he doesn't believe in, and lives a good life anyway, he should not be sent into a pit of eternal torture. Why should he abandon his beliefs to pick up a set of completely foreign beliefs if no evidence is given?
I mean for %$#@s sake, Gideon sure got some nice evidence from God, Thomas sure got some nice evidence from God, Moses sure got some nice evidence from God, why the hell can't I?
God gave Gideon TWO separate incidents of proof that he was for real. I haven't gotten one, no matter how hard I prayed.
And I'm going to go to hell for not believing?
Hell is a place called "punishment" for people for doing bad things.I don't know if non Christian believers go there no matter if they did good things or not.In my opinion if you are an atheist and you do good things I don't think you will go to hell because when you will die, God will accept your forgiveness because everyone has different option. But it's not someone fault if he was born to an atheist country/family etc but if he didn't born in to such places and on his own choosed to be atheist well things may be different.
Actually about the hope of salvation you asked if there is when you are to hell, well there actually there is a hope....If you will truly regret what you did and believe in God then God may forgive you.
That's all for now. Also I am a ChristianWell, I was born in America, a Christian majority country, into a Christian family, and I made a conscious choice to stop believing in a deity.
Am I going to Hell?
And heck, if God shows up at Judgement Day and says "acknowledge my existence or go to Hell," I sure will believe in a god that appears right in front of my face. I'd probably ask him what took so long.

How can you be less of a believer than me? I don't believe that Jesus died for my sins. I don't believe Jesus was the son of God. I don't necessarily believe Jesus existed at all.

This kind of honesty is great to hear from a religious person. One seldom hears it these days.
EDIT:
P.S. I think your original question has been satisfactorily answered at this point, Skreeran. Really, any argument about religion is fultile because neither side can be proven 100%. Maybe 99.99%, but never 100%. Us atheists can't prove that god doesn't exist, and religious people can't prove that he does. I think the original question was interesting, and is indeed one of the many questions that leads people to believe what they will about religion. However, I think it's been answered as much as it can be answered.

Why don't you just read my previous post (first post on this thread) to find out...damn I hate it when people are ignoring me...I replied to you. I was talking to MyTie. If there's one thing I know about religious people, it's that they're all different. No one believes the same thing. I was asking what MyTie believes, not you.

I don't know.Well then, I guess I have no more to say.
I do find it somewhat odd to believe in some form of "Hell," but have no idea who is supposed to go in it.
Incidentally, when I was a believer, I believed in Annihilationism. The rest of my family believes in Universal Salvation.

I know the actions which will lead someone there, and the actions which will lead to heaven. Ask me about a person, group of people (ie. buddist monks) and I can't tell you. I look, and I only see people. Only God can judge the heart.

Indeed you would according to their beliefs. Doesn't make sense, as we know, but I'm afraid that's the way it is.

Taxation without representation. If a god isnt here to police the globe, why should i abide by his rules?
Police presence shouldn't be the driving motive to obey the law.

I don't think any single action constitutes a commital. I don't think one step constitutes a journey. I think your asking me to summarize that which is unsummarizable.

Heh, I'm sure my own respective faiths would have a lot to say about that.

Meh, law/beliefs are way different.
Buttttt I'll bite for the sake of discussion. If there werent any police to enforce at all......or you were told you "might" be punished if you dont follow the "law", a lot more people would break it.
Yes, and yes. Only the people that would WANT to follow the law would follow it, which seems to be the whole point of Christianity. I made this point earlier. Love means more when it is given freely.

Love means more when it is given freely. Then why do we need a Hell at all? Couldn't God just let the people who didn't want to follow him be free, and let the people who want to be with him be with him? Why does he need to punish anyone?
