Forefox is very secure, just do not install un-neccesary toolbars.
Get
malwarebytes
and scan your computer.

Malwarebytes can work well in detecting infections but no program will 100% accurate.
Scanning while booted into Windows may not turn up any infections if the infection is able to hide itself or disable the AV/spyware application.
Try booting into Windows safe mode, booting using a rescue CD from an AV vendor or booting into a Linux Live CD and scanning from there.
Firefox can be a little better than I.E. but FF also has many security issues. Running NoScript, Flashblock and Adblock Plus can help to minimize the risk.

Sounds like you might have responded to a phishing email. My advice: don't. Learn to recognize them and do NOT reply to them or click links in them.

I think my fiancee's account was hacked last night as well. I got to work this morning and saw an email from Blizzard waiting for me informing me the account was put on a 3 hour suspension and password reset was required. The suspension was from Advertisement and Spamming. The email was sent at midnight and we were in bed by then. The only problem is the servers are down so we can't verify if it was hacked or not :(.
We noticed some fishy things going on when she was logged out while playing and when we logged her back in she was closer to Darnassus. After that we changed passwords on my computer and ran Malwarebytes on her PC but it came up with nothing so we thought we were in the clear.
Blizzard shoots first then asks questions. They do not give Hour suspensions, especially 3 hours. Its normally a 3 day or 7 day suspension, but normally a complete full ban.
That email you received was a spoof, phishing email. Blizzard will never ask for your password, or ask you to verify your password. When in doubt, call them directly. and always, for the love of the light, type addresses in your browser manually and never use your username or password on any site other than the official webpage.
Please, Invest in the authenticator key.

I wouldn't be so quick to call that email a phishing scam. While the OP's wording of the email may have been slightly inaccurate, Blizzard does issue three-hour suspensions. Seven-days suspensions are not issued, however, because the longest one is three days. See
this page
for a complete list of penalties used by Blizzard.

You'd get your stuff back a lot faster if you can call them. I've read a lot about people waiting weeks with tickets, but when I got hacked I phoned them and had my account and items back in like three hours. Good service!
