The grandmother and grandson's kid will forever live in shame, and is more likely to be retarted and will almost CERTAINLY have downs syndrome. Homosexuals are not going to have a kid. One of them is responsible for their actions. Another is transferring the reponsibility to the result. One does not affect anyone else. The other affects someone who would not even have existed, but as a result will exist and have many problems.

Good point.

Again, do people really expect them to run around and actually say 'Hey look at our Grandson-Son', no of course not. From what they are saying, it sounds like the family is just the grandmom and the grandson, and no one else really. Again, it's 'ew' because of the morals most of were raised with, but beyond that... meh, who cares? They aren't hurting me, and it sounds like no matter what, they are going to raise the baby as best they can.

If they did not have a child, then I would not have the problem with it that I do. Imagine a child being teased in school, being probably retarted, and being told that his mother was his great grandmother as well, all through no particular fault of his own.

The point is that his parents knew it would happen and they chose it anyway. Yes the people are at fault, but he doesn't deserve it, they deserve it. And he will still be born with defects.

Only if they both have a genetic disease already inside of them; non-retarded/non-defected children do result from inter family couples, as screwed up as it is. And again, to the child growing up, it's just mom and dad, not dad and grandmom; they will probably move away from the town they are in now to get away from the exposure, and the kid might find out eventually... but to him, it will be 'normal'.

Did you read the last page? More than likely, the child will be fine. As for Downs, if you're referring to the age of the mother, they're getting surrogate parents.
The genetic dangers of incest only exists if there is a history of genetic disease in the family. Even then it has to be extremely recent (siblings) or ongoing. Use this as an example: Asterisks indicate a carrier, primes indicated someone with no history. We'll use the average incidence of Tay Sachs carriers in the U.S. population (1 in 300) as a baseline for people with no histories. Quotes indicate an affected individual. Pluses indicate siblings.

In this case, the product of incest (shown by the double line) of an uncle and niece. The chance of their child having the genetic disease their mutual grandfather carried? .00055% or about 1 in 1800. Worse than the average population (1 in 360,000), markedly but not terrible. If we change the grandmother to unknown history and remove the affected child, the numbers become even more forgiving.

I'm a staunch believer of the "Love is love' mentality, but this isn't OK in my book.
To each is own, I guess.
You necroed this vile garbage just to say this?

I guess I did. God forbid I express some sort of opinion on something, especially something so morose.
You think I would've generated more shock-value if I said something like "Hawt" or "Eww"?
I will refrain from unearthing threads buried in time, though.
I don't care if you unearth threads. I don't care if you express emotion. I encourage that. The problem, I thought, was that you didn't give enough. You jotted down two fairly inconclusive and undetailed sentences that didn't shed any more enlightenment on the topic.
If you're going to bring back threads that house controversy, at least be decent enough to elaborate your opinion, challenge the status quo, or bring new facts and details to the scene. You did none. You said:
I don't like it, but whatever. The problem is less with the necro, and more with the thoughtlessness.
