Does it even exist anymore? Do people just farm badges for gear and jump right into ICC?
I have been in my guild for a while now, and we've been rather casual. We only have about 6-8 active players (although we have over 40 characters guilded, mostly alts lol) but I wanted to start us on a weekly raid schedule, two nights a week to begin with. Our gear levels are mixed, so it's hard to tell exactly where we should start. Do you think it's best that we do badge farming until everyone is over 5k GS then jump into the newer raid content? Or should we start on some of the older raids first for gear and work our way up, the way it used to happen?
Mind you we'll have to pug at least 3-5 people more than likely until we can recruit some new folks and get a solid 10-man army built. Any suggestions?

Depending on the gear levels, have people run heroics and the new ICC 5man instances until the majority of their gear is around ilvl 232.
Once people have their gear, start agreeing on some raid times. You want to run twice a week (which is plenty for clearing ICC), so getting people used to showing up at those times is going to be vital. Trust me. Having to cancel ICC10 HC two resets in a row, due to people being no shows is extremely frustrating.
If you're unsure about how well people are performing, and depending on your realm, try arranging for a few ToC10 runs. It's usually fairly easy to find randoms for that, it doesn't take long to do, and the gear is always useful. Yes, you can get by in ICC with slack dps, but once you're past the first 4 bosses (and even then, Deathbringer is dodgy with poor DPS), you'll be facing some steep DPS/healing requirements. So starting out with ToC10 can usually give you some pointers if people need to read up on their class or not.

The way the game works now is that Blizz wants everyone in the most up to date raid content. Heroics, Emblem and Crafted gear will put you well into position to start ICC10.
If you wanna run pre-ICC content for fun and "team-building" more power to ya.
It's actually kinda funny though because the older raids are so much harder than ICC
I skipped the other ones and went straight to ICC like blizzard wants, and its easy as hell compared to ulduar and togc, like literally, extremely easy, even though the gear dropped is higher

It doesn't exist. When I hit 80 I thought it did so I started Heroics in i187-ish blues, got blue and some purple i200 items and was like "Okay, I'm ready to raid!" and then people are like "lol go run heroics and get emblems to gear up, we don't raid anything except ToC and ICC now".
I really wish it was like TBC used to be, from what I've read. You
had
to do the earlier raids to be geared for the newer raids, so you didn't have people who are gearing up and showing up with pre-ICC gear but 0 raiding experience, because the new system encourages you to never step foot inside a raid except for possibly the weekly (and that's only ever 1 boss so nobody does more than they have to), and VoA (which barely constitutes a raid given how easy it is).
I understand Blizzard changing the system so new characters can get into the endgame sooner rather than later, but really all that happens is you get actual new players (not new characters!) who want to raid but can't because they have never been on a raid before, so no group will take then. Even if they run Heroics until they're blue in the face and have all the 232/245 gear they can get, which in Blizzard's eyes means they're ready for ICC10, they still aren't going to get into a raid because they haven't done raids, but they can't do raids because nobody is doing raids except for ICC.

That is the plan laid out for Blizzard, so, yes.
You should be able to do ICC 10 with gear from the previous raid (TOC 10). As long as the majority of your raid is at i232 gear levels, then you will be fine to start.
In addition, you will be a 15% boost from the buff, so as long as everyone has just about everything they can have from badges and ICC 5 mans, then you guys will have more than the minimum gear needed. Everything else is skill.

This is pure QQ.
If you have all the 232 and 245 gear (don't forget there is a lot of 264 boe and crafting) and you still can't find a raid, it's you. It's not your gear, it's you.

I would prefer it if when you started forking over subscription fees was a bigger factor in whether or not you can raid endgame content than whether you're actually any good.
Fixed.
