Yesterday Bornakk and I were in lead world designer Alex Afrasiabi's office going over more Cataclysm information to share with you lovely folks. As we were getting into the discussion, former World of Warcraft game director Jeff Kaplan stopped by to let us know he's still available for Westfall development advice if needed. As many of you are aware, Jeff did a great deal of the original design of Westfall, so his offer was quite funny to us.
As we laughed he asked Alex, "is there even a Westfall anymore after the Cataclysm?"
"Eastfall, Jeff. It's Eastfall now."
I hope your day is going well. ;)
Discuss. :)

So, will the continent just turn right to left? No indications sofar that I've seen on any map.

I bet westfall will change place with Duskwood!

Probably just a joke more then anything.
Although I could see the whole zone shift slightly to the east. Maybe have the zone smash against Duskwood and turn the river into a sheer cliff.

Didn't the info on Zone Changes say not much was happening to Westfall?

Maybe that stretch of land to the east of Redridge?
This.
That would be rather funny really :)

I think that was a joke as well, it's based on a reference Chris Metzan made to Old Blanchy. The zone change map showed that Westfall would be getting moderate changes. And since Desolace was also shown as "moderate" and the Western Plaguelands, with the plague being wiped out and the scourge in retreat thanks to the events of WotLK, was listed as "minor" we can say the changes could be substantial.
I would go as far as to say the Defias could be replaced by some other threat as the main focus of the zone. In Northrend we find out at the Westfall Brigade that the Defias are no longer a threat.

Maybe the main change they'll be making to the zone is that the more of the poor
goretusks
will now have livers so they can go out and enjoy a night at the pub with their mates more often. It might make their wives angry more often, but who cares when they'll probably be killed for a quest drop tomorrow anyways.
