Goshad and Uric need to stop multi-quoting and move on with their lives. Last-word doesn't make you look any better, it just makes the thread longer to read until you get to REAL INFORMATION. Before you post next time do this: Stop, read what you just typed, if it has /quote in it, delete the entire thing and proceed to kill yourself. It'll make this thread a lot easier to read for the rest of us who want a real argument that pertains to the actual TOPIC not just trolling.
Ok

Holy shiz, this thread went crazy.
There's really no winning or losing a matter of opinion; if you're out to think arena folks are elitists you're gonna keep on thinking that until you change your own mind. I don't think I'm an elitist though; like most arena folks I just know I'm better than (usually) half of the other folks in a given battleground, because I've had a lot more practice dealing with like, every possible spec of every class, and have learned to react as such.
So when someone on my team rushes a node with me, while they see paladin, shaman, warlock, I see healer, dps, and control, and rather than go nuts blasting a hard target I shut em down in the order they need to go (or die trying, if they happen to be pretty squared away as well). Most arena folks work the same way, and it's simply a superior technique to zerging things and hoping your zerg zergs faster than the other side's zerg.
Also it bears mentioning that success in BGs boils down to luck, a bit. If a good amount of your folks are in blues or full pve gear, chances are you're doomed no matter how tactical you think you are, unless the other team is pretty evenly geared (which doesn't seem to happen often).
Really though, however elitist it sounds....yes BGs take a sense of 'big picture' teamwork that goes beyond having an arena rating, but you can't cap nodes, carry flags, or whatnot if you spend most of the match with your face in the dirt. Folks that hit arena hard tend to spend less time dead, which goes a long way to winning the match. Those that don't, are usually the ones preaching about how everybody sucks and yelling about which node to rush, while they're sitting in the graveyard.

Elitist players are elitist. Non-elitist are non-elitist. It all comes down to this simple truth. Don't elitist PvEers complain about Vault of Archavon, or the new emblem system? Don't Arena elitists complain about Battlegrounds? Don't Battleground elitists cry about Arena players being self centered? Yes, they do. But that's it - ELITIST PLAYERS complain. Not players. You know, there are actually players able to get decent ratings that don't even post on any foruns. They're quiet, so you don't know about their behaviour or stance towards other players. You base your ideas around specific situations, yes, it
is
a fallacy.
"
In logic and rhetoric, a fallacy is a misconception resulting from incorrect reasoning in argumentation. By accident or design, fallacies may exploit emotional triggers in the listener or interlocutor (e.g. appeal to emotion)
" (Wikipedia)
" * Fallacy of Accident: a generalization that disregards exceptions
Examples
Argument: Cutting people is a crime. Surgeons cut people. Therefore, surgeons are criminals.
Problem: Cutting people is only sometimes a crime.
Argument: It is illegal for a stranger to enter someone's home uninvited. Firefighters enter people's homes uninvited, therefore firefighters are breaking the law.
Problem: The exception does not break nor define the rule; a dicto simpliciter ad dictum secundum quid (where an accountable exception is ignored). "
(Wikipedia)
Yours would be something like
High rated arena players are Elitist. Player is a high rated player. Therefore, is an elitist.
Problem: NOT ALL HIGH-RATED ARENA PLAYERS ARE ELITIST.

I wonder why people care. People like goshadstep2lose work like yellow journalism. Break up quotes to serve their feable purposes, even make them up when the going gets tough.
They have the nerve to say "Anecdotal evidence is still anecdotal" when that's the only evidence available. Looking for a screenie to show a player being Elitist?
Elitism exists in this game. Elitism exists on this Forum. Look at the source when you face these things. Does the offender even matter? I din;t think so.
Just try and take some pleasure in griefing the boneheads and move on.
P.S. I should take my own advice, but this is such a jackpot of insanity that I haven;t been able to resist.

If you're going to quote something, make sure it's accurate. goshadstep2lose always says "Anecdotal evidence is anecdotal", there is no "still" in there. And by the way, I agree with him, too. It's not about needing screenshots to prove everything. It's about pointing out that one person's opinion, from their experiences, may be entirely different than someone else's opinion and experiences, and not applicable to everything or every situation in the game.
Nevertheless, I don't expect you to understand, Uricidea.
Thanks DeathBlood, and Elwood66 you guys really brought me to my senses. I know now that Arena-only players can play in BG's, and Raid as well. What was I thinking? Well just thanks again, and Godspeed.
Neither me nor Elwood66 mentioned anything about raiding, which makes me wonder whether or not you actually read through posts, before responding with your ill-conceived garbage. The fact that you deduced something so stupidly simple from my point about Arena players not focusing on BG objectives all the time (which relates directly to the topic) shows me that you must suffer from impaired reading comprehension.
