and you know, keeps the Zombies away.
So do Shotguns, Machine Guns, Snipers, Bats, Crowbars, Swords, Chainsaws, and anything sharper and duller than a crayon.
Yeah, but that's after the bodies have already come back.

My brother may have been joking, but he was talking about having his body be cryogenically frozen. On one hand, I don't mind the idea of coming back sometime in the future, but on the other, too far into the future and I would be effectively useless to society and I would know absolutely no one. To be honest I think I would rather just be cooked when I'm dead, I don't like the idea of my body being slowly eaten by worms, its just disgraceful.I wanna be frozen too, if the computer brain storage hasn't come around yet. I mean, what's the worse that could happen, I stay dead? :P

One of the main reasons for people pushing to concept of eternal punishment was to give people a reason against doing whatever they wanted that didn't have to be enforced.
Or because it really exists.
See, you're not actually making a valid argument when you say that.
Now I'm not here to argue whether it does exist or not, I just want to make it clear that statements like that really carry no weight.

I am an Atheist. The way I cope with the fact that I will die into nothingness is by viewing it the same as the beginning of life.
Before I was born, I was not conscious, or aware of life, existence, being, space/time etc. I was not able to tell that I was existing (Because I wasn't). So when I die, and my biological functions cease, and my carbon based body decays, I wont be aware that I died, and that I am nothingness, because I will have ceased to exist, therefore rendering myself unable to comprehend my state.
How can something bother you, if you do not know what being bothered is, and dont even know that you don't know that in the first place? (Extremely confusing I know, but try to think about it.)

Because the bothering is (supposedly) occuring while you are conscious and alive.

Yes, enjoy your life while you can. You'll never know when you're going to die, so make the best of what you have.
Well.
I went sky diving, rocky mountain climbing, and I lasted 2.7 seconds on a Bull named Fu Man Chu. So yeah, just live like you were dying.

Nothing to "cope" with.
When you die, you die. Everyone dies once.
A human personality is a correctly working brain. Our bodies work, because our brains work. Emotions are based on numerous biological processes. Memories are information stored in our brain. If you inject someone with extreme ammounts of different hormons, you can totally break all their emotions, body functions, or sanity. You are not breaking a "soul", you are breaking the body.
When we die, our brains cease to work. They stop. Your personality does not exist any more. There is no "heaven", no "hell", and not even "eternal void and darkness". And you, as the person which dies, are absolutely not aware of anything. Once you are dead, you are not concerned about it.
Why should i fear something i will absolutely not care about after it happens, and that will eventually happen.
That is what i believe. Not afraid of death really. But living is the best thing that ever happened to me, so i try to enjoy it as much as i can.
