Did you notice any change in your DPS? Was it positive or negative?

Don't
ask yourself that question. One fight (or even one raid night) is
no
indication for one rotation to be better than another. The damage in one fight is way too much dominated by RNG.
Do the math, calculate the theoretical dps for each spell and use that as a basis.
Don't compare raid logs from two raiding nights.
Generally as long as your MB cast is at or above 1 second (out of Bloodlust/Heroism) it's worth casting, when it starts dropping significantly below 1 second you can skip it (unless you need Replenishment as Sinespe said).

Instead of bickering over how or how not to test this theory, why don't you just run it through Simulationcraft a dozen times or so? Mathematical proof is generally a good way of convincing people you're right, until you get hit in the face with the RNG pie.
Test it out and show your results. Just be mindful of everyone else's mana levels, as you'd be robbing them of one of their sources of Replenishment. If Bloodlust/Heroism is cast later on in the fight when people are at lower mana levels, it might not be the best time to take away their main source of regen.
