New to Holy, a few questions

TLDR:
What do you think?
Why does everyone put the tldr at the bottom? Anyway, my account was hacked recently so I played on my wifes account for a little bit. She has a holy pally and I ran a random, HVH, with mostly guildies and it was a blast. She has healbot which did make it pretty easy. She told me left click small heal, right click big heal, 5 and 6 are Bacon/SS. I got her setup initially playing and researching specs and stuff, so I know some theory, just not much real use. She's way overgeared for heroics, but we had to pug a tank who we thought was just terrible until we realized he had rez sickness and then we knew he was terrible. I was healing a shaman and mage who were basically tanking, swapping bacon and SS every minute, and healing like a madman. The Shaman died once, but used her self rez.
So, I want to go Holy for my offspec on my Prot Pally, right now its a heroics prot build. I've read the stickies and put together a basic set linked above in the tldr. I went with the 4p T9 bonus because it looks good and I have a ton of EoTs, ~300. I also already have the
pickled egg
and
DG Libram of Justice
. I also have all the
horseman
rings
, but plan on going with the
triumph
and
Kirin
Tor
. Which brings me to my first question.
1) Which Kirin Tor ring should I get? I know the mp5 is made for healers, but spirit isn't that good right? I know crit isn't great either, but it's better than spirit and the haste is good too, right? Or is the Kirin Tor ring not worth it anyway? I can't get the Ashen ring because I have the tank one and am keeping it.
Money isn't really a problem. I won't be buying multiple 15k 264 crafted gear, but the ring for 9k and maybe another 10kish piece are good, like the
BS feet
maybe. BTW, anyone know why BS gear don't show up when you filter for crafted 264 gear? So, second question.
2) If you were to spend 20kish gold on a couple pieces what would they be?
I have maxed BS and Tailoring, so it would just be buying the mats. Primordial Saronite goes for about 1800 on my server. Though I got 6 for less than 1600 each when making my tank boots. I might save some gold and not go with 264 crafted gear either. I still need the travelers mount anyway.
Since I have 3 items from FoS I'll certainly run that a few times. But is there a better/alternate shield? I'd rather not run an instance for one specific item. I would for my main spec, but if I end up not liking holy in the end I'd rather not have wasted a lot of time.
4) Any suggestions for alternates to the instance drops I used that are easier to get? Specifically the
shield
, but also
neck
,
boots
, and
weapon
.
Lastly, I did love healbot. Are there any other addons I should look into for healing. I currently use xperl for my raidframes and plan on replacing that with healbot. Does healbot tell you when someone gets aggro? I'd like to set it up for tanking too. I also use SpartanUI, but xperl party frames.
5) What are some addon suggestions besides healbot? Or do you prefer something over healbot?
One thing I did notice on healbot was player frames turning red or blue. My wife says they can turn green too and she can cleans some colors sometimes. She's not the most detail oriented player.
Please also feel free to criticize my
build
and talents/glyphs. I went with the basic raid build even though I'll be doing heroics first because I felt that I can buy enough gear to pass the old gap where the ret tree was useful. So once I get the hang of it in heroics I'll be using it for some easy raiding. I might get instant queues as a tank, but on my server raids still have more trouble filling healer spots.
Thanks for any and all help, I know this sure is a lot in one post.

1) Haste + Crit is the way to go when choosing Kirin'tor ring
2) I would get
Earthsoul boots
,
Belt of the Lonely Noble
and
Crypt Keeper's Bracers
. 20k should be enough for that.
3) There's point 3 missing here.
4)
Vigilant Ward
is easy to get, comes from 10 man anub. Also, get
Tears of the Vanquished
from black knight normal
5) I'm not into addons, so will leave that for others :p

Thanks, good point on the missing point. Guess I was typing too much.
Vigilant Ward
is a 7% drop chance with one shot a week. Doesn't seem too easy, but I'll keep a look out. Actually I might already have
Tears of the Vanquished
. I run a lot of friends through reg TOC looking for one thing or another and I'm a packrat. Is it better than the
pickled egg
?

On Addons:
You'll need certain things to note when you're a healer; a good view on your raid, ability to quickly dispel, and buff tracking.
Raid
You want something that can track incoming heals and give you a good overview on your whole raid at a glance. The default pullout raid frames work fine if you place them above your cast bar. Placing my raid somewhere around the center of my screen is pretty important to me just to keep my eyes in a decent place. I use Grid, but Xperl, Pitbull, Shadowed UFs, or any oUF layout is pretty valid.
Dispel
This is about getting a dispel off fast. This can be done with a mouseover macro or through Clique. I would suggest never to use Decursive; it's a redundant addon that adds nothing but another frame to your screen. It's total clutter.
Buff Tracking
Mostly about one certain spell: Beacon of Light. You can do this through a focus macro that will cast Beacon directly to your focus target. Setting a focus with Clique is how I do it, with a Shift + Rightclick. I use a Macbook and a standard mouse, so I have two options of doing that right click; it may work better for you to do it another way. There are timers available like Need to Know which can track buffs on yourself and your target and your focus target. I use NTK to track my Judgements of the Pure buff and Beacon on my focus. I also use Grid to track Sacred Shield and a border around my Beacon target, so I can remember not to directly heal him. There's Forte eXorcist that can track just about anything, and BOLT meant specifically for Holy Paladins. I don't like gimmick addons that are specific to one class and one function, but it's lightweight and standalone, with minimal setup.
Also tracking your CDs might be a good idea. Omni CC puts an number over any button on your UI when an ability is on CD, but this can be done with Need to Know or Forte too.
All of this can be done ingame by default, but I still think Blizzard's UI is messy and tough to read.

1) Whichever one doesn't have spirit.
2) I've never bothered with craftables, but everything david suggested looked pretty shiny.
3) ?
4)
profit
The Anub shield is easy in the sense of an easily puggable instance, but I understand the drop rate is bad. I wouldn't know, picked it up the first or second time I went with my guild, but apparently some people aren't so awesome.
5) I recommend Vuhdo. Healbot is fine, Grid is fine, anything like that. You don't need to use something like Clique, or bind spells to healbot, but I strongly recommend some kind of raid frames addon, since the standard UI is pretty bad on that front.
I've also met, like, one person that liked Xperl, and probably 40% of the raids I've ever been on have started with 'afk a second X-perl is glitching.'
And yes, the T9 bonuses are terrible. Pretend that text isn't there when selecting gear. However, if there's a piece with decent itemization and it's better than what you have, it certainly can't hurt to have some T9.

Thanks Fallen, good stuff there. Yeah, I'm not surprised about the shield. I was rocking the CoS
shield
on my tank for the longest time. Then I got the EoE
shield
on my second time in there when it was the weekly for the second time. Now I have
Neverending Winter
.
So should I forgo the set bonus and just get the 245 pieces? It would sure up my GS for those requiring 5.5k for TOC or VOA runs. Or I'll just were my tank gear and reply to LF Heals.
For crafted legs, are you talking about
Woven Death
? Besides being cloth they are sweet. But I couldn't buy them for my Pally before my mage. Just got the 2p T10 on my mage and those legs are next.
Also David, I forgot to ask, would you buy those three and not the ring? Honestly I just want the ring for another port to Dal. The
wrists
look expensive, a BOE drop from an ICC boss.

Thanks Brique and Pezz. I've heard a lot of people say they use Vuhdo. I guess the only thing I really use in Xperl is the party frame. SpartanUI doesn't show party targets or pets, like drakes in Occulus. I don't think Healbot does that either. So I could get rid of Xperl, though I haven't really had trouble with it, but is there a better party frame addon? I did notice that healbot keeps the Bacon/SS icon on the target while it's active and counts down from 10 when it's about to expire. I liked that. It even had an icon for when the FoL HoT was on the SS'd player so I knew to refresh it. I like the focus idea, I've used it to track my healers and have a Righteous Defense and SS macro to help them out a little quicker. I was thinking of something like the following for my healbot setup:
Lclick: FoL
Rclick: HL
Mclick: Cleanse
Shift-Lclick: Bacon
Shift-Rclick: SS
Shift-Mclick: HS
And I should still have ctrl and alt clicks too if/when I need more. Then keyboard buttons 2-5 or whatever would be my CDs and trinkets. I use Shift 1-3 for judgements.
I already use OmniCC for my tank, it's great. I'll look into Need to Know.

Cool, I put in the
Tears of the Vanquished
along with the 245 non-tier emblem gear.
Updated profile
, same link as above.
Thats 30k mana, unbuffed, without any 264's yet, sweet.

Actually problem with giving advice on buyable items is that prices vary significantly between servers. On my server I had the chance of getting all of these for 4-5 thousand each (bought just boots and belt, it's my offspec after all). Also, I didn't understand problem with that Kirin'tor ring, thought you already had it bought (profile said so).

Note, if you want use grid in the same manner as you would healbot, you pretty much DO need clique with it - grid has no innate action other than showing you bars; clique actually adds the click-casting functionality. For keybinds, and I'll preface this with "use whatever you're most comfortable with," I prefer to have holy shock as my mid-button just so it's more readily available for saving Chief Stands-in-fire. I use cleanse as shift-mid.
I didn't see it mentioned above, but an addon called CLCBPT (yeah, don't ask) is actually a pretty slick tracker for Beacon, SS, JotP durations. The reason I use it over similar mods: It can track not only YOUR sacred shield targets, but all sacred shields up in the raid - makes it very handy for those of us who feel empowered to be a holy pally rolling with three HoTs. Also useful for justifying heckling your prot pally offtank for not keeping SS up on himself.

Totally doable in every unit frame addon that exists apart from Blizzard's default raid frames. Your Auras can be shown separate from other's auras with a tiny bit of tweaking. It's not as simple as a standalone addon, but what you're thinking is totally false.
I use Grid to track SS targets. Pale blue shows my own, dark blue shows another's SS. I don't exactly care about refreshing SS as it's expiring. It's just not necessary. I refresh it "when I can" so to say.

True, but click casting for spells is really obtuse for me. I opt to use mouseover macros and Grid, with Clique for dispeling targets that aren't myself with Shift Leftclick. I have 1 bound to Flash of Light, 3 to Holy Shock, and 4 to Holy Light. Nothing essential is bound to 2 because I'd be taking a finger off of the W key. Think about movement when you're binding keys or click casting. It can totally *!@# up your raiding ability to be setting up without really knowing how to play with them.

Heh yeah that's completely doable, Brique, but it'd be even more appealing if the options pane for Grid weren't so user-unfriendly. I tried grid2 for a while as well, but it being still in beta it was even worse :P It'd be great if someone could put together a setup guide for the more advanced facts of Grid ;)
Click-casting... mouseover macros.... yeah let's not debate that. Rather, try both and see what works best for you, Rott. Personally, I prefer the former, with my situational cooldowns on the numbers near the WASD on the keyboard, but to each his own.
