I'm certainly not disturbed. I remember reading somewhere (can't remember where exactly, or else I'd link) that Blizz doesn't want to go above level 100 with WoW. If we went to 90 with this x-pack, that would give us only one more before 100. Going to 85, that shows intentions (following this format) for at least 3 more following.
Edit: Dangit, barthem beat me to it.

It's just a number, who cares if it's only 5 new points? They're pretty much reworking talent trees entirely and your stats could pretty much double in one level instead of two when going through 60-80. Blizzard know what they're doing and you won't be complaining, I assure you.

The focus in Cataclysm is the revamping of what they already made, not introduction of new content.

Southrend, here we come!
The Twisting Nether.
How would we quest / raid in an environment with no laws of physics?
A. Actually, if I remember, there was going to be something about it relating to the Wailing Caverns and the Barrens.
B. Um... Sure.
C. Physics of the Twisting Nether are unconfirmed. If Ner'zhul could chill in the Nether, why not us? Not to mention Netherstorm.

In before Adams arrive, The main problems in the Emerald Dream were dealt with in the Stormrage book. So is more probable that the expansion after Cataclysm will be in the Maelstrom.

5 levels for a variety of reasons.
1. An unprecedented reworking of level 1-60 content
2. More endgame content at release (a good 3 or 4 times as much as WotLK had a launch)
3. Greater depth to those 5 levels
In the end "5" is just a number. Sure they could of changed a few variables and made those 5 levels 10, but I think they wanted to keep leveling speeds relatively consistent (it wouldn't make much sense for 80-90 to take less time then 70-80, even after any exp adjustments in 4.0).

Would be awesome to see vanilla stuff (quests, raids etc.) being remade into 85 cataclysm stuff. That end game content in vanilla was uber cool.
Heroic Deadmines and Shadowfang Keep anyone?
