Hammer of the Righteous is a special case. It's the only attack besides auto attack that can apply or refresh Seal of Corruption.

I thought judgements also generate a stack of SoV/SoCorr since it also causes physical damage. I think the rule is all physical attacks will proc the stack. Physical damage doesn't have to be white. Correct me if I'm wrong. This is also the case with ShoR.

white melee hits
apply stacks.

So the question is if I'm Ret and use Divine Storm will SoC be applied to all targets as well?
No. I'm not sure what exactly the interaction is, but DS doesn't apply a stack of SoV/C.
It's confusing though because DS DOES work with SoCorr, but not the Cleave portion. Every seal works with every skill differently in some confusing, arbitrary way for the sake of balance.

For ease, call Corruption SoV and Command SoC.
Seals work as they do for balance. So Judgement and HotR applies SoV stacks to mobs in addition to autoattacks for Prot, but only autoattack applies SoV stacks for Ret. If Ret stacked SoV faster via melee attacks, it wouldn't affect PvE too much (unless the encounter has target swapping), but would murder PvP balance.
SoC doesn't cleave with Divine Storm (it just does one seal attack per target) because DS is a Cleave-effect not a normal melee attack like autoattack and Crusader Strike which cleave just fine.

So I finally switch to alliance and everyone switches to the Horde terms on me? :(
I do realize that seals work as they do for balance, and I do understand most, if not all of the justifications for the way things work, it just frustrates me that the system needs so many specific 'but in this case' clauses to work. I like nice, coherent, eloquent systems.

It has always been Corruption in my mind because eff the alliance.
I like how it currently works making you pay attention, I mean does ret really NEED to be easier?

Vengeance is the Alliance term for the Seal, and Alliance had it first (when we Horde had Blood). SoV makes me want to keep the stack up (hard to do sometimes), but I don't pay much attention to it. Ret needs abilities that make you pay attention, instead of the current spam the best ability that isn't on cooldown method.
