If it's said by a black person and it ends in "a", then it's ok. If it's said by anyone else and it ends in "er", then it's racist.
Or so I've heard.

In popular culture it is indeed a racist word.
Idiot

.
Besides, you trust the word of a rapper on what's good or not? O_o

Right, but you don't hear Eminem saying it do you? Unless , he wants to get jumped by NWA, JaRule or 50cent..

Words aren't what make people racist.

So you think it's ok say to the N word freely and not be labeled as one. I'm sorry pal! Welcome to society!

Before people decide that a certain 'N' word is racist in every single context, please look up the lyrics to any NWA, Ja Rule, 50 Cent and so on song.
Then say that.
Idiots.
Now please lock this thread :)
April fools! No one seriously thinks that a word such as the N word that offends so many people could be not racist. lol almost had me there Harper.

So, by your line of thinking, it's alright to spew all racial slurs at everyone right? As said above, there is a difference between the 'a' and the 'er' versions.

If the african-american culture want to stop being treated differently, then stop acting as such ok?
Different than what? You want all Afro-Americans to modern day white male dominated society?

But of course, this is wowhead. You're all amazing and can inference racism from any sentence so I'm never going to win.
With the internet you have to assume things, or you'll never get anywhere.
Otherwise, they're differentiating themselves and don't want to be part of our culture.
And what's your culture? If you are posting in America than somebody else's culture is going to be way different. Heck even in Utah the culture there is way different than the rest of America.

And there is also a difference who says it to you. Just doesn't seem right for a person not of african descent to say the word with the "a" since it also would be considered as a racist remark. It's just the way things work around here and you can blame HISTORY for that "Black Panthers" "Nazis" .. etc...

Oh here we go.
If a culture will act differently, it will be treated as it wants.
I.E if it's ok for an african american to say 'n***a', then it's ok for us. Simple. Otherwise, they're differentiating themselves and don't want to be part of our culture. The N word didn't start with the African Americans, it started with the White Slave owners, learn history before you go off on something eh?

Edit. Notice I have to start out N***a and don't have to with honky? It's pure BS. I'm all for equality, but that isn't it.
Are you going to cry about how there isn't a "White Entertainment Television" next?
ITT: Harper "just doesn't get" the concept of race relations.
