I'm sure there are extremists in every movement. Your willingness to attribute the whole movement to the minor extremeist sect shows
your
biases. A quick google search and wiki scan on my part showed the whole movement is greater affiliated with lowering government taxes and spending. Looks like it was brought about by the stimulous. Doesn't seem that wrong to me.
their methods of campaigning are sad, and as are their goals. Sure, its good to spend less and tax less, but they need to have a solution, not just screaming "ITS BROKEN" and causing headaches for everyone.
Well, let's see.... They are against government spending. With that in mind, they protest government spending, and campaign against said spending.
Try explaining what the greater parts of them are doing that you disagree with, and why you disagree. Explain to 'why' it is broken. Just becuase they are 'causing headaches' doesn't mean they are doing something wrong. I believe that any positive movement will undoubtedly cause headaches. It's the nature of these things.

I'd recommend instead talking with friends/family, donating money to candidates who support their beliefs, volunteering, or even running for office if they can.
I disagre with finfangfool about the nature of protesting, but I commend him for proposing positive ideas. This is the mark of a true thinker.

pay attention to those who yell out about the president being born in AfricaHeh, except then he couldn't be president(gotta love people who don't know their own system).

That was there point. Mostly it was a bunch of racists who wanted some justification as to why they didn't like having a black man at the head of their government.
Though I agree, too many people do not have a grasp of law in their own country. This carries on to other things as well, but I don't want to go off topic.

This deserves a /facepalm. Yeah... I'm sure he realized the implications of Obama being born in Africa. The thing is, though, he wasn't born in Africa. So, the repeating of that news story over and over is a waste of time, when they could report on things that do matter.

I don't really buy that. Where where they when we were getting ready to invade Iraq? Afghanistan? And we're still dumping money down those pits. How about the new fleet of planes that are two years behind schedule and roughly twice as expensive as projected in the early 1990s? Nary a peep out of the tea baggers/tea party folks on those issues.
The health care bill was a fairly conservative approach..I mean a mandate! A liberal approach would have given us universal health care or even a water down version called a public option.
I think this is the result of the constant rightward march of American politics. We now think of centrists as the left, conservatives as the center and insanely conservative as the right.
This post is truth, which is sad. Whenever I hear from people "Oh man, Europe is so left leaning" I just shake my head in disappointment.

So, since people are against spending, but are just now getting more vocal about it, and organizing, they shouldn't because they weren't this vocal earlier? Seems a little shallow to me.

He means they don't get uppity until the government (which includes other people's money, not just theirs) spends money on something they don't want. I don't agree with the Iraq War, but do you see me threatening an armed uprising over my money (well, once I become a tax payer)? No. The Tea Party are just hypocritical asswipes who don't understand what democracy is about.

No.I don't see anywhere that Tea Party activists support the Iraq War. That's not part of their ideals as far as I can tell. They are simply about spending less money. That's about it. The Tea Party are just hypocritical asswipes who don't understand what democracy is about. This is kerosine.
