Personally, I'd go for a Gilnean horse that had been partially affected by the curse after spending so much time with it's masters.

Heh, I find all the classification thing of the Worgen amusing; they are just Lycanthropes, which are shape shifters, able to transform whenever they want in a wolf/humanoid wolf form(yes, they do exist, go check it out). The standard 'cursed' werewolf is a Loup Garou after all, forced to change at the full moon..... and you know, for all we know, there is going to be a Lore thing to add in the phases of the Moon for Warcraft and might actually have the Worgen stay in their wolf-human form at certain times heh.

edit: now i get what you were saying about the moon thing....no, that aient going to happen, like i said, they arent going to get any werewolf crap like that.
How do you know? And you don't get what I mean, I'm just saying, during a full moon in wow, you'd be forced to remain in worgen form for the entire night, no shifting back into your human form; not saying your going to go berserk or anything like that. Not all Werewolf things are bad, some of the ideas for them over the years and the legends are actually quite interesting; instead of saying no to everything, go and look around at stuff and open the mind heh.

i didnt say werewolves were bad, i just like worgen as a race of anthro-wolves, i know that alot of werewolf stuff (knowing werewolves) would ruin the race if given to them like i've listed.
maybe you're idea could be fine though, although i dont know if worgen have anything to do with the moon other than they're connection to an ancient druid order that was secret and they're connection to elune.
But they are not Anthro-wolves... they are
Lycanthropes
; an anthro-wolf is humanoid wolf that doesn't change into a human after all; something like Star Fox and his pals are anthro's.

A long time ago, there was a secret ancient druid sect, that wanted a more powerful form. they looked at moonkin form, but saw it as too weak and wanted something strong and powerful.
so one day one of these druids found a strange race of beings in the emerald dream: the worgen. they were large, humanoid, feral wolves, and this druid could see they were incredible strong and powerful.
the druid showed the worgen to the other druids, and they decided that they, like moonkins, shall try to get the form of the worgen race as another one of their druid forms.
unfortunatley, they tried and failed, they could not find a magical way to shapeshift into a worgen. so, as an alternative, they somehow created what is known as the worgen curse. instead of magically shapeshifting into a worgen, they were physically, biologically that is, turned into worgen.
however, as being biologically transformed into worgen, they became feral, crazed, and violent. what happens after that i can't think of anything.Wouldn't it make more sense that they saw into the world of the Worgen instead of the Emerald Dream? Just saying heh.

actually, according to chris metzen, worgen originated on azeroth, as he said are they from somewhere else, or someWHEN else. im thinking that they were an old race on azeroth a long time ago, that mustve gone extinct. they may have been around when that ancient secret druid sect was around.
perhaps, trying to gain a druidic worgen form, the druids killed off the worgen in their experiments that created the curse?
Probably not heh, Druids aren't big on accidental death after all. And remember, the Worgen are from a world where they were under attack by the Lords of Emerald Flame(Scythe of Elune questline) it could be that in the past, before the Sentinel started summoning them to Azeroth, your ancient sect saw a momentary glimpse into their world and tried to duplicate what they saw. I only say something other then the Dream because the Dream itself is what Azeroth would be like if no sentient races evolved; that includes all races on Azeroth, and seeing as the Worgen seem intelligent, they wouldn't have been there either.

hmm perhaps.
also think of this, treants represent restoration, moonkins represent balance, and worgen represent feral. eh? eh :D
Probably not lol.

oh well : / chris metzen said at blizzcon 09 that they have alot of "really awesome lore stuff" for the scythe of elune storyline, and the scythe is in the hands of a silverbrook trapper atm.
we'll find out soon enough :O
As I've said elsewhere, I'm kinda sorta hoping this means it might be a Caverns of Time instance. I would LOVE one to be centered around the Scythe of Elune and Velinde's travels from Northern Kalimdor to Duskwood to find Arugal.
But even just a bunch of quest chains related to it would be good too.
