Hey guys, I just published a new version of the Client (version 1.6.6). Could you please give it a try? It should fix the big itemcache.wdb bug.
Yes, it is working... on one conection so I doubt is a problem at your end now. I have two conections: one is ADSL and the other is 3G, differents ISP. Until last week I couldn't upload on both, sames messages of "Upload failed: Data transfer timeout.".
Last Thursday, selecting one file at a time, I could upload all my data. Just a few minutes ago, I uploaded my husband's data, all at once - took some time, my 3G is a bit weird, but worked. Thanks! :)
I still can't upload using my "home" conection, I tried to contact them and got the usual "blah-blah-we-didn't-change-anything-must-be-the-site-you-are-using". I'm still waiting a response on another ticket, since using another ISP resolved my problem.
Thanks for all the hard work!
PS: Sorry for my "Engrish", is not my first language.

huh mine will collect data from wow fine. When I exit wow it will go to 39% then the problem message will pop up. I'm running norton but even when i turned off the firewall and tried uploading still no dice. I'm updated to latest client version and it still won't work. I'm running Vista but i've only had this problem for a 3weeks-a month and before that it worked fine so I'm completely unsure as to what the problem may be. Any help would be appreciated.

So with 1.6.6, it still fails. I disabled the LinkScanner in AVG, as well as the resident shield, and it did not fix it. I'm thinking it is still a connection stability problem, it actually does get up to a certain point in all these cases I see posted and then the connection gets cut off. I tried using the demo of Socket Spy to see it would return any useful information, but it doesn't (maybe the full version would?). Perhaps if you implement a method server-side where it can resume the connection if it gets reset early?
Here's one of my logs btw:

I've been using Windows 7 Home Premium edition, and i haven't been able to upload any data in regards to items or quests etc. For some strange reason my completion tracker was working for a character of mine, but it recently stopped uploading anything altogether. I have always gotten the error: There seems to be a problem uploading your data.....
For information, i run Product Name: Norton 360 Version: 4.2.0.12, and have been disabling firewall, antivirus, almost all options trying to upload with no luck.
Have tried deleting all WTF folder related information and reinstalling wowhead looter with no luck.

I've had this problem at least since the last WoW patch. I don't run the client while the game is running, only with the game shut down completely. I use WinXP sp3 with McAfee Antivirus and firewall + Avira AntiVir. Disabling all of it doesn't help. My connection is DSL, and I even tried resetting the modem & router.
