Back on topic:
I would say at 232 you should do around 6k single target. Every 10 item points you go up on average (over all gear) you should do around 1k more damage. Thats 10man though. 25man you can do possibly 7-8k with 232 gear. 12k+ in 264-277 gear 25man.
A lot of it depends on how competent your group is.

Id say 12k+ is a little high for 264-277 tbh, maybe in full 277, with all necessary buffs, but at the moment its all speculation, would be nice to see what the actual figures come out to be when in full BiS.

Just think this needs clearing up, Its just m/s people I personally would say i average around 3000 txt messages a month and i would still shoot myself if I started typing like that all the time. It takes maybe an extra 15secs per 500 words to type it out properly, why make someone waste an extra 5mins per 500 words to read it when you couldn't be &*!@ed to spend 15secs?

A lot of it depends on how competent your group is.
Sounds right - I was doing about 6.5k on 25 man in 232 (and below gear) (It's my offspec) on Saurfang and Festergut. Our main retadin easily pushes 9k in mostly 264 gear (but his dps is pretty poor imo for his GS). I got the new sword from 10 man and am sitting at around 7.5k dps with a 5.2k gs (mostly 232 with 2 251 pieces and 2 crappy trinkets). Please note I raid with about 400-500ms being in Africa. So your mileage with lower ping will vary.

Im guessing you've done all the tcpackfrequency, unless you're running a mac? most of the time bad pings, and lag spikes are caused by the crappy routers given out free when people signup for broadband, and are only good for browsing webpages, nothing more, but im guessing you already knew this.

As it stands I have actually hacked an iPhone and use it for my raids. 2G > Dialup.
The only thing $%^& ping gave me is knowledge of what is inside every packet and how Blizzard sends them.
The first issue that most people never have to care about is sort of one that would annoy anyone sensibilities; addons can send anyone in your party/guild huge amounts of spam
even if you do not have that addon or any addons installed
in your own client. The absolute only way to stop it is either having them delete the addons, or full out ignore them. This is the main reason you see masses of people on the official forums complaining about getting D/C at the start of a boss battle. If some *!@#$% has a badly coded spammy addon, it will screw up things for people even on broadband. Meaning, someone could make an addon that has a goal of doing just that. HUGE hole in the games stability that has been there for years.

The other issue, surprise surprise, is another blizzard oversight and poor coding. Data spam due to buffs trying to overwrite each other

All of that is within a fraction of a second and is a fraction of a copy of the below link. The actual log would be an order of magnitude larger, and remember, all of this #$%^ has to be processed by all your addons, or at least, by your all the routers between you and the server.

Here is a saurfang 25 with 9k DPS with very little consecration and divine storm exposure due to the dumb a$$ blood beasts. Pulling those things are bad Ju Ju.
I consider my gear average for a paladin who raids regular 25 man ICC with their guild.

Take my shadow's edge away and toss in Bryntroll. Stupid easy to get.
My biggest advice for young Ret paladin's: Watch your timers. Use Avenging Wrath as soon as it's comes off CD assuming you will be staying on the boss and pop your first one as soon as your stacks hit 5.
Also Snowfall keypress can be your best friend sometimes. Your abilities are used when the key is pressed as opposed to waiting on the key to be released.

Well, I for one have learned something today. In addition to tcpackfrequency, is there anything I should do to configure my wireless router to be better?
If ever able, go wired. There is more ability for wireless to be interfered with than wired. If your wireless is stable though I wouldn't worry about it.
