I rolled vs a Warrior in LBRS for Krol Blade, and I won. But I felt bad for him so I gave it to him. It probably made his day but I later somewhat regret it anyway =)
Another classic is leveling in a party of 5 friends in EU beta, we decided to only level when everybody was present to be at the same level and quest progression.
But ultimately we rolled new characters that we leveled on solo while someone was missing from our questing party. After leveling twice the levels we got in the party on half as much time played we decided to make those new characters our mains :P
Beta, goooood times. Ashenvale vs Barrens PvP <3

I leveled up balance because I was unaware of how to change talent trees for a very long time.

...Leveled my mage from 1 to 5 by bashing wolves with my staff because l removed fireball from my actionbar and thought l lost it.
...Waited for my Hearthstone CD every time l fell into Ironforge's Pit of Lag, since l didn't know you could walk back up.
...Suddenly noticed you didn't need a quiver to use your bow as a warrior, and l had been 60 for a while back then.
...Didn't learn Stormstrike on my Shaman because it costed too much mana.
...Fed my pet 20 fishies in 20 seconds to get him happy. Then l suddenly saw a buff!

When i was first introduced to Wow back in '06 i had no background or familiarity from MMORPG's and thought it'd be the same as a console game. In 2006 i first rolled a Gnome Mage because my friend was a Gnome Mage and thought Gnomes were cool. I remember tryping so slow (since i basicly was never on a computer typing alot beforehand) that just to type 3 words would take eternity and the guy i was speaking to would leave, hehe.
Didn't know what instances were and thought Vendor Bought Whites looked "cool" and were one of the best items ingame. Ya,i know. During the summer of that same year i was slowly being seduced to Horde by my friends brother. They're like Ying and Yang. One plays End Game Horde the Other plays End Game Alliance. Well anyway i tried out a Troll Shaman in late fall and named him Infernall, who would become my first 70. I only found out about how to use General Channel during my mid 20's i believe. One of the most frustrating things about being new and leveling in the Barrens is no one friggin' tell you anything, they just leave you helpless like a baby.
And let's not forget this is during back in the days when Barren's Chat and Chuck Norris jokes were an active part of Barrens,so ya. I was confused about alot of the acronyms for dungeons, like we all were. I got one of my family members playing and he caught up to me pretty fast. He did Wailing Caverns one day and Root of the Everliving dropped so being noobish i asked him to need on it and trade it to me later on. I still say Wow to myself everyday for that one. Ya he angered the group since an experienced Druid lost roll on it and then i realized what BoP's were the hard way.

I started playing this may, so I still remember my first few days of playing quite well
*before I actually started playing WoW, I thought the camera view in it was the same as in Warcraft III - i.e. from the top. I knew there were HUGE bosses so I was always wondering how would you look at the boss if you could only see his legs. I also couldn't imagine how you could fit a whole 40 people raid in a screen
*I didn't know I could stealth up until I was about lvl 11 (my char's obviously a
Rouge
Rogue!)
*I didn't know that I could backstab while unstealthed - I thought it was an opener like Ambush, but weaker. I always thought (until lvl 62) why is backstab even there, as it costs the same energy, but does significantly less damage
*I didn't know that Redridge Mountains were Contested Territory, so I was well afraid to go in there thinking it was full of Horde (i'm on a PvP server)
*When a polearm dropped for me in Deadmines, I was looking for a weapon master in SW for ages. When I finally found him, i realised he couldn't teach polearms. I was then told by some meanie that "if a rogue(!) wants to learn polearms, he should go to Darnassus". I was asking random people in SW to show me the way to Darnassus (I thought that getting to Kalimdor would take 2.5-3 hours due to distance).

Well, my best noob moment had to be trying to reach Ironforge for the first time. I'm a NE Druid, and I had a buddy in Ironforge and I was determined to get there. So, of course, you take a boat to Wetlands. Once there, I ask a higher level guy where to go next and he didn't even know. However, he specifically told me that the tunnel on the other end Wetlands did not go there and would lead to higher level monsters that would kill me (and in his defense, the orcs there would have - but not any worse than all the other stuff in Wetlands). So, I ditched the actual way in knowing there had to be a different way (since the high level guy obviously knew his way around so well).
I studied the map for a very long time and finally settled on the only plan I could think of - swim. So I set out from Menethil Harbor and swam along the coast hoping to find an opening to Dun Morogh. Instead, after a few hours (swimming this straight doesn't take nearly as long - maybe 20/30 minutes - but I was convinced I could climb the mountains somewhere) I ended up in the Murloc infested waters of Westfall.
I was afraid that if I died I'd go all the way back to Menethil, so when I did die I was releaved to find that I was send to a graveyard in Westfall. Once I rezzed, I ask another guy if there was a city nearby and got directions to Stormwind. Then I learned about the tram, and finally made it to Ironforge at about 5am.
As bizarre as it is, I actually found the little unused house between the two locations and thought it was pretty neat. I've made the Menethil/Westfall swim several times since then just for fun and I've also swam around both Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms.
Otherwise, I had similar moments to others. It took me a long time to figure out how to talk. I remember reaching Dolanaar and having a level 14 challenge me to a duel. Obviously seeing that he was a god I declined, but then he started taunting me and I couldn't figure out how to say anything back at him.
I also got pulled into a Deadmines run. Someone in Westfall just looking for a healer and asked me to come. I told him I didn't even understand what an instance was and he dragged me along anyway. So I ended up as the healer for a five man group in my first Deadmines run. Turns out their other healer had ditched and they were already at Mr. Smite. Needless to say, my healing abilties at the time were untested and absolutely terrible. We wiped quickly and I was promptly kicked from the group. I felt terribly hated and unwanted for an hour.
I also remember the Rogue with the Furbolg costume who told me turning into a Furbolg was a Rogue ability - and I believed it.
And when I picked Druid I had no idea I could shapeshift. I was absolutely amazed when another guy told me at level 10 I would get Bear Form.
Oh yes, and who can forget trying to escape from Moonglade. I still help out people trying to figure out this one. The normal flight point is hidden in the southern woods and I didn't know the Druid-only one existed. I had assumed that my Teleport:Moonglade spell would take me back to Darnassus when I was done, but this wasn't the case.
I ended up trying to go through Timbermaw Hold, ended up at a graveyard in Felwood and doing a corpse run down a waterfall and back into Darkshore. Of course, I later learned that there was a free flight point inside the town.
