just wanted to say thanks for the code crackpot. after 3 days of mucking around with itemstats and wowhead support i gave up, and had your code working perfectly on my board in 10 minutes :D
much thanks...that's the exact reason i wrote it. itemstats can do

You're using an extremely out of day version of PHP. PHP4 is no longer suppported and PHP4.4 is the last release of PHP4. I would speak to your host about updating to PHP5.2

Crackpot, first, this looks spectacular.
I've run into a small problem which appears to be attempting to double-post new posts when I click the Submit button, after I've added your code. Here's what happens.
Anywhere on the board, I open a thread, click "Reply," type in my text, and click Submit.
The page goes white (doesnt load), and if I hit refresh, I get the 'Retry' prompt, hit Retry and it takes me back to the posting page with a notification that a new post has been made while I was making my post. But the new post that has been made is my actual post I just typed.
So, the post is making it, but something weird has happened, and I believe it is in overall_header.html or functions_content.php. Because if I revert those two files, board works fine again. Did I fat-finger something in the code?
Here's my overall_header.html section:
window.onunload = function()
{
for (i = 0; i <= onunload_functions.length; i++)
{
eval(onunload_functions);
}
}
//

And here's function_content.php changes:
<?php
/**
*
* @package phpBB3
* @version $Id: functions_content.php 8667 2008-06-21 16:05:02Z acydburn $
* @copyright (c) 2005 phpBB Group
* @license
http://opensource.org/licenses/gpl-license.php
GNU Public License
*
*/
/**
* @ignore
*/
if (!defined('IN_PHPBB'))
{
exit;
}
require_once($phpbb_root_path . '/wowhead/parse.php');
/**
* gen_sort_selects()
* make_jumpbox()
* bump_topic_allowed()
* get_context()
* decode_message()
* strip_bbcode()
* generate_text_for_display()
* generate_text_for_storage()
* generate_text_for_edit()
* make_clickable_callback()
* make_clickable()
* censor_text()
* bbcode_nl2br()
* smiley_text()
* parse_attachments()
* extension_allowed()
* truncate_string()
* get_username_string()
* class bitfield
*/
Is there anything else you'd like to see? I went down your list of install instructions, and havent even setup any BBCodes yet, just typing manually for now.
Please help! I would love for this to work, and I feel like it's just a stupid syntax error.

Oh, forgot to add this piece from your instructions as well. I'm hoping you can find something I did not format correctly.
/**
* custom version of nl2br which takes custom BBCodes into account
*/
function bbcode_nl2br($text)
{
// custom BBCodes might contain carriage returns so they
// are not converted into
so now revert that
$text = str_replace(array("\n", "\r"), array('
', "\n"), $text);
$text = whp_parse($text);
return $text;
}
Thanks in advance for your help!!!
EDIT: Just so you know, it's definitely in the functions_content.php. If I leave the changes in overall_header.html, and revert back to my old functions_content.php, board works as it normally would. Am I missing a semi-colon or { } somewhere?

Fixed all of my issues. it was a conflict with the armory itemcode.
crackp0t, would it be very hard to parse as an added feature?

Congrats on the most vague request for help in this thread...meaning, I'm going to need more info.
@that1guynick, I'm glad you got it working. I will look into adding , but I as of right now I believe it to be a bit of overkill.

yes confirmed if your not usin php5 you'll have problems so speak to your provider or server admin and get php updated to php5 newest version and it will work a dream as i've just done this and it works PERFECT on my phpbb3 and portal too

why a webhost would still insist on using PHP 4.x is beyond me. To my knowledge PHP 4.x is no longer supported by the developers, and only security fixes are being issues. PHP5 is so much more sexy, and therefore should be used.

Hmm, that is a strange issue. Never seen anything like that. I'm not so sure that my script has anything to do with it though, due to the fact that the script doesn't mess with any text, unless its the included *.css file and there are conflicting names of classes. If that is the case then don't use 'wowhead.css', otherwise I'm not sure.
Checking out your source there are what appear to be other Wowhead tooltips scripts on your website, perhaps they are causing an issue when my script is added.
By the way, I like the theme you chose, it looks really good.

Have you tested it using phpBB's stock theme (prosilver)? This would at least reveal that it is for sure the theme you're using, and then you can look over the code of the theme to see what would cause the issue.

I have the same problem as that1guynick had. I however, have no mods installed on the forum. It's a straight phpbb 3.0.2 forum. I have narrowed it down, it seems to have something to do with the first edit in function_content.php, it seems to cause a delay in redirecting after submitting. If you try to delete a post and click yes, you go to a blank page.
I have no idea as to what is causing the problem.
try updating ur phpbb toi the newest version and error won't happen anymore
