You actually met one? Ugh.
Oh, no;
I tried playing it.
Wowlol.

Don't do that ^&*!, it's stupid.
I know that now. It seemed like a good idea at the time; more damage from Blighted Quiver and the ultimate, but neither scale up as well as I had thought they would. Fortunately I realized this very early into the game and switched it out for AD items. And we won.

It's not unheard of, but it's not very good.

So I found Kayles who jungle.
I do it when I'm bored in normals, with the right rune/mastery setup it's quite good actually.
On another note, Udyr the bearhanded beastmode badass, ez #1 swedish tier list. 2 stronk.

Pro tip: don't play a AD carry when your hand is all stiff.

We should organize a Wowhead ARAB/ARAM game. No runes, no masteries and only free to play champs.

You are wrong in saying this.
AP Varus was intended to be a fun quirky alternate build that can actually work in certain situations.

Except for the part where he as AP scaling.
With his background of being consumed by a dark, supernatural power a mix of physical and magical abilities/AD and AP scaling seemed a natural fit. This also tied in well with a desire to make a wide variety of builds playable if not necessarily competitively viable, something a lot of our older champions especially do really well that I quite like (AP Trist or AP Yi for example). Blighted Quiver was the result of that line of thought, recognizing the magical nature of his attacks and allowing AP to enhance Varus' auto attacks. The Blight stack detonation mechanic then arose out of a desire to amplify the satisfaction/reward of landing Varus' other abilities, all of which are skillshots, and incentivize skilled chaining of abilities and attacks.

Because increasing an ability that has 0.25 AP scaling; and a long CD crowd control ult that has 1 AP scaling is, in some situations, better than increasing his attack damage with a 1:1 ratio; along with two abilities, out of which one has a 1-1.6 AD ratio and the other has 0.6. On an AD carry with a pretty awesome ranged AD passive. Yeah, right, makes so much sense.
Previous paragraph contains dangerous amounts of sarcasm, just in case.
I bloody hate when people stack AP on AD carries, because they think they are
sooo gimmickeh and hipstah
and as a result, all they can do is hit for a lot with one or two abilities (that they can miss with too), and flap around like a Magikarp.

AP Kog actually works though, you can out put a *!@# ton of poke. But it requires training/skills to use.
